So today was my 2nd scan, and 2 more follicles appear in the picture, but not developed enough to be considered, so 3 follicles it is! Doctor is happy with size and growth (20, 20, 18). π€
Tonight will trigger and Wednesday at 8am will be EC day! Saturday it's transfer time!
He told us to think about transferring 1 or 2 at the same time. He says that statistically it increases the chances of pregnancy by +or- 5% and 1/5 of the ladies carry a twin pregnancy. But the twin pregnancy is of higher risk (and I'm 43...). What are you opinions on this subject?
I know we have a chance of not having embryos to transfer, but we just want to be prepare in case we need to make a decision.
Best of luck to you all π

Hello, at this age I would always go for transferring two. The chances of a twin pregnancy are relatively tiny. Consultants aren't always that good with the stats. You've got good sizes. Maybe make a decision when you know the quality. Mine tend to be slow growers and not top quality, so the embryologist recommends transferring 2. Keep us updated and good luck xx
Hi there. As the other ladies have said I would def transfer 2 embryos.I had double embryo transfers in March and September(age 40)Septembers transfer stuck and I am now 21 weeks pregnant with our rainbow babyπ x
Hi there, Good luck with EC and beyond! I recently transferred 3, which is unusual I think, but that was a Day 2 transfer, which might make a difference. Iβm just 44. 2 of the embies were a bit fast and one embie was a bit slow, so theyβre all back in! Best wishes whatever you decide. xx
so transferring them both separately will have a higher chance of success individually but is obviously more costly. As he says if you do them together you increase the single chance of one working by a small amount. But you could end up with twins. I was 40 on my last transfer and they still advised only one for there is less of a risk with carrying one as well.if it were me Iβd go with one I think
Hello, i am 41, have done 3 transfers since June, 1st and 3rd time transferred 2 and 2nd time transferred 3 (which ended up in early miscarriage) , i am doing all this in Belgium and doctors here recommend 2 from age 40. Unfortunately for me, still not pregnant, but on my way to do my first FET right now. Sending good vibes your way.
So yesterday (11th) was my egg collection, didn't sleep much, was a bit anxious I suppose...
2 eggs were collected and today we just got the call that both of them fertilized
Transfer will be on Saturday, hopping that they both will keep developing π€
Me and my hubby have discussed and we are going to transfer both if everything goes well until Saturday. Let's see what the future brings us! Cautiously hopping for the best π€
Thank you all for your feedback it was very appreciated!π
