Help pls, where to place estrogen patch for IVF?

The consultant told me to put in my back and the instructions say below waist on thigh or bottom. As clinic is closed today can’t ask. Where should I place it? Thank you x

Hi there, I was on Evorel oestrogen patches and the IVF team said very helpfully that anywhere Kylie Minogues gold hot pants would cover is a good place for a patch ( this made me laugh). Different nurses suggested different places but all were within the hotpant region🤣. Hope that’s helpful. I rotated patch placement so that I could get the sticky mark off after removal. Good luck with the cycle. You can always check when your clinic opens again.

Thank you! I have put on my upper thigh, though the edges not so sticky as I had to peel off a bit and then smooth it. I’m on Evorel too, is that normal or do you think it’s because I unpeeled and stuck again? Sorry it’s so hard not to overthink these things xxx

ideally, you want the patch to be fully stuck down as it has to stay for multiple days and give the correct medication dose. I would probably take it off and put on a fresh one without peeling and re-attaching. Just bin the old one. It does take a bit of practice.

I used the top of my legs and the top of my buttocks for Estraderm. I found places better that I didn’t knock every time I took trousers off! Good luck!
