Where does your transfer take place?

Random question - where in the clinic does the transfer take place? Do you have to wear a gown or is it literally like having a smear test where you are just covered by a sheet?

Thanks! Xx

Yes. Embryos are sensitive little things so you shouldn’t wear makeup or perfume for transfers and your OH will have to wear a gown too xx

Got it. Good to know, so a few hours by the time we’ve waited etc? X

Once you’re in the room 20 minutes tops. That includes signing documents etc etc xx

I wore a nightie. I think NHS are a bit more formal and use gowns. At my clinic they just wheeled me into the theatre which was across from my room. Good luck 🤞🤞 x

When I've had transfers done I was just told to take my bottom clothing off and a paper sheet is used over me. No perfume deodorant hair products or makeup to b worn by myself or husband. All in all we were there 30 minutes tops xx

Mine was in a theatre (where I also had my egg collection) and I was in a gown. I had a long wait (2 hrs) before going into the theatre (then I changed into my gown just before going in). Was only in the theatre about 15 mins.

Same rules as above, no make up, perfume, hairspray or nail varnish x

Mine was super quick, normal clothes but I removed the bottom half. My partner was in there too, in his normal clothes. It was like a smear, quite an easy process x

Mine is done in theatre. Wear a gown and scrubs are put over me until the Dr comes in then dignity goes out of the window as usual! 😂xx

Of course!! That’s a whole other side of this that you don’t learn about until you start. Never been prodded, poked and examined by so many people 🤣 xx

Ha ha ha yep, never though so many people would get to see all my bits n bobs, never mind being poked & prodded! The things we have to do eh?! If it makes you feel any better I have to work beside some of those people who have seen far too much of me!!😂🤣🙈xx
