*sensitive* … 13dp fet line neither darker nor fainter, chemical??

hello all,

My OTD was this morning and I got a faint line, same strength as when I tested 3 days ago. This is the first time I’ve ever had positives so not really sure how they’re supposed to progress, but from looking on this site and Google I feel it should be much darker today? My only consolation is that my wee wasn’t very concentrated, but I thought at this stage it shouldn’t matter?

this feels like the longest TTW ever!! Anyone had similar experience? I am prepared for a chemical and I want the wait to be over one way or another!

Positive test on your OTD is good news! What type of test did you use? Not all tests change the strength of the line, only the FRER ones. Less concentrated urine could be the reason too. Does your clinic do blood tests? All fingers crossed for you.

thank you! No I used a clinic abroad so it’s just the tests to analyse over and over! I’m feeling better today as I splashed out on an expensive test and it showed positive 😌 so I’m now just hoping AF doesn’t come and ruin my Xmas 😬

Try not to analyse the darkness of the line, too many people obsess over it and there could be a load of reasons for it being the same darkness. Firstly if it's a different type of test the dye maybe different. If it's the same brand it could be that the dye doesn't get darker as not all test do. Also if you took the test at a different time of day it can be different as the more hydrated you are (less concentrated your wee is) the less the HGC will show up. The good news is its positive on OTD 🎉. Unfortunately you now have to wait it out till your viability scan (unless your clinc do bloods). Try and focus on other things to take your mind off it and enjoy Christmas 🎄. Fingers crossed 🤞 for you x

thank you for your post, they were just cheap tests - a bumper pack from eBay, I didn’t know that about different tests so that’s really encouraging thank you! Took a FRER this morning and it was positive, 2-3 weeks so I’m feeling more positive today!

Mine sadly turned out to be a chemical. The line looked the same on a cheap test from 9dp5dt till 13dp5dt. Beta was only 24. On the day I went to check my beta I also used a clear blue test (sensitivity 25 mlU) and I got a strong + so I was really confused. I hope it's not the same with you and you just have some bad tests.

hey Saskia, sorry to hear about your chemical, how long did it stay positive for and when did AF arrive if you don’t mind me asking, your story is exactly the same as mine so far except no beta test for me just got to wait it out, trying not to think about it and enjoy Xmas doesn’t seem possible! (Especially whilst trying to keep it to myself amongst family)

I didn't test anymore after my beta because I knew it was over. I stopped taking progesteron and got my period 4 days later. During my first chemical I got a positive 10dp5dt (beta was 11) started bleeding the next day and was bleeding till 14dp5dt. On OTD 16dp5dt my beta was 39 and two days later it dropped to 22. I know how you feel, it's really hard just waiting.

Hello hun, from your update it sounds like things are looking really positive. I also just wanted to say if you did want to get a blood test there are online companies like Medichecks that do them (you can also buy them in shops, although you do still have to post off the blood to get the results). Masses of good luck.

thanks, that’s good advice. If I’m still unsure after Christmas (as I guess they are shut for the next few days) then I’ll do that.

Congratulations on your positive!

I’m like you - had never seen a positive test in my life - didn’t believe it (still don’t!) I was confused about the lines & retested a few times, but I was driving myself nuts over darkness of lines.

My clinic doesn’t offer blood tests, my viability scan is on 5 Jan. Great advice from StarsAllAround - we have to sit tight & think happy thoughts ✨🙏🏻

Ah Congratulations to you! I know, for me I was never expecting to be in this position, it’s always gone wrong in the past. Wish I knew what was going on in there! Good luck with your scan, and thanks for the encouragement 🙏

I was positive otd. Very

Faint. Had to do a clear blue to be sure. My 7 week scan isn't till 4th. I was thinking of doing another test on the 28th. I dont think I'll trust it untill I see a scan. Xx

Congratulations! Have you tested again since OTD? I think I’m going to test like mad over the next few days 😬 probably not healthy I know but at least if it starts to fade I’m prepared for AF if she comes.

Thank you. I hope yours goes well. I sending myself round the bend thinking it might be chemical or an etopic pregnancy. I'm debaiting weither to book myself on for a private scan. But they are so expensive. Taps fingers impatiently.
