3 day embryo with fragmentation

We are currently half way through the 2 week wait after a disappointing 7 eggs collected, 5 of which fertilised and was told that we would need to transfer 2 eggs on day 3, one 8 cell and one 6 both considered poor quality with fragmentation. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and had success?

My third round seemed to have a poorer outcome - 3 eggs collected plus one bonus they didn’t expect, only 1 fertilised so planned for a day 3 transfer. I’d only had day 5 transfers before this (both chemical pregnancies unfortunately). Embryo looked substandard but then popped to 8 cells at the very last minute just before transfer. I’m now 32 weeks pregnant. The little devil was also a late implanter so it looked like another chemical, took 3 lots of HCG tests to finally confirm it wasn’t!

I thought a day 3 transfer was a bit of a last ditch attempt, like making the best of a bad situation or something, but ultimately the best place for those embryos is inside you. Wishing you all the luck in the world and really hope this is your time xx

thank you so much for your response and congratulations! I am now 9 days post transfer of 2 embryos and couldn’t wait any longer so I did a test, what do you think? Xx

it’s difficult to tell on the photo but looks like a faint line… do you have any first response tests? They seem to be clearest. Either way keep testing and hopefully those lines will get darker 🤞

Hi there.I also had a 3 day transfer of 2 embryos and your line looks exactly like mine at around 8/9 days post transfer.Your test also looks like the ones I used as well.Currently 16 weeks pregnant.xx

so reassuring to hear that day 3 transfers do work. I was so disheartened when I heard that our embryos were poor quality with fragmentation. The hospital didn’t give us much hope and said that they were concerned that they wouldn’t make it to day 5. Xx

That must have been very upsetting to hear the hospital say that.We only had the 2 eggs which made 2 embryos and that’s why ours were put back in at 3 days due only having the 2 but our consultant said that yes day 5 may be considered the best but he believed that sometimes embryos are best back were they belong at day 3.😊
