I've never heard this before, but I love it!! What's the rationale, other than as a 'pick-me-up'??

not sure - rationally it would make more sense after egg collection as sodium helps draw excess fluid out of folicles? Something like that? I’ve heard, but not sure what the rationale is for after transfer other than a myth!

It's after transfer.......the thinking is that the salt is supposed to help........although can't help thinking that this is a complete myth!

I would say either way, whether you stick to a healthy diet or enjoy your fries post- transfer its probably not going to make a lot of difference to the outcome, but you deserve a treat! Good luck

think the salt helps retain water and that helps blood flow! Not that any science has been done! :)

After transfer but as I had a day 3 transfer I had them after transfer and then again on Day 5 just in case;-)

Your supposed to have acupuncture as soon after transfer as possible too, aren't you, so maybe the plan should be acupuncture followed by fries, followed by a comedy show on TV at home because laughing is supposed to help too?!

I did this but it didn't work. Even so, if I hadn't done it I would have been kicking myself that I hadn't done these things!

Very true. So much is about knowing you tried your best and did all you could. Sorry it didn't work for you that time, but I hope you have, or have had, a better outcome in the future xx

this always baffles me. I love mcdonalds fries though so I definitely will be getting some

it’s meant to be consumed between egg retrieval and embryo transfer to reduce the likelihood of OHSS because of the amount of sodium in the fries. After a frozen transfer is probably psychological because it makes you feel good - although I don’t afterwards!

wish I’d consumed after egg retrieval. I went for Gregg’s wedges instead, which turned out not to be very salty

there’s lots of advice around this (preventing OHSS). My clinic advised me to drink lots of fluids as this helps flush it all out of my system, and gentle walks.
