Shrinking follicles - has anyone had this?

Hi all

I went for my scan today to check follicle progress. I saw someone different from normal and my follicles were all measuring smaller than they were yesterday. By approx 2/ 3mm. Has anyone else had this? Is this to do with different measuring techniques between different people or have all my follicles got smaller within 24 hours? Yesterday I was feeling reasonably okay / positive and now just feel totally deflated and like we are heading towards another abandoned cycle.

Thanks in advance for any feedback or experiences anyone can share.

was it the same person doing the ultrasound? This happened to me one cycle but it was different people measuring and once they made the decision to stick to the one person it became a much more consistent picture of growth! X

Thank you for replying to me. Yes it was a different person doing the scan, I have usually had the same doctor but because its a Saturday I had someone else. Just felt so disheartened to see the change and feel like I now don't have a consistent picture.

I totally understand I felt the same way. In my case it was just measurement error with two different people doing things slightly differently. Hopefully if you see your us doctor next time you’ll find things are still progressing as expected xx

yes, it’s very subjective so try not to worry too much x

I’m sure it did, if only the sonographers knew how much these little details mean to us. Have everything crossed for better results for you next time🤞🏻

Hi Skittles, I don't have any advice on this, but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. This whole process is so stressful and you can just never know what to expect with each appointment. I hope things go better at your next appointment, but I understand the feeling of being deflated thinking things aren't going to progress well Xx

Thank you lovely lady. Felt awful yesterday and was exhausted from it all but at least I slept well. Hope you are surviving with it all too ❤️

I can imagine. It's all so bloody anxiety-producing. I'm glad you at least got a decent night's sleep! I'm doing OK thanks 😊❤️

i had quite a few diff people doing my scan during last retrieval and it was crazy...they kept seeing diff size and numbers. th meds the follicles are growing ( rate of growth might differ) but it does not make sense to get smaller.
