I am having a myomectomy (keyhole using robotics) to remove a 7cm fibroid. Does anyone know what the recovery is like? I’ve been told 3-4 weeks. I’m wondering how long I should tell work to expect me to be off (I teach part time so they will need to arrange cover) and also how long before I will be up and about. And how long in hospital? Anyone had this procedure and can tell me how they found the recovery?

Hi Hannah. Good that you are getting this done. Usually up to 2 days in hospital, then 2-4 weeks recovery with no lifting or strenuouse exercise. Your specialist at the hospital will tell you how long and the ward staff will give you some information to follow. Hope all goes well. Diane
