I've not gotten any nearer to getting a clear answer from the nurses at my fertility clinic so I wanted to check what you think as I still don't know if it was chemical or left over trigger shot.
We tried naturally this month but with letrozole and a trigger shot. I took trigger shot on Friday 19th August and clinic just said test after 14 days. I test earlier and it was faint lines but I tested after 14 days 2nd Sept and 15 days3rd Sept and it was still positive albeit faint. Sunday and yesterday are now negative.
But my question is can it still be left over trigger shot on days 14 and 15? Or is it more likely an early chemical? I just don't know which it was which is annoying!
I had a chemical for a FET a month or so ago but that clear cut as no trigger shot involved.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
xx

The trigger shot definitely doesn't linger for that long but it is a little worrying that you're still testing positive but no progression on the line. I had an ectopic pregnancy in October 2020 after IUI and I had no symptoms, other than a positive pregnancy test consistently faint. Im not saying that it is that, Im just saying it could be a number of things and worth raising with your team.
Thanks for confirming the trigger doesn't linger that long. The FRER tests went negative on Sunday and Monday so I'm just waiting for me period now. Sorry to hear you had an ectopic, just awful. xx
I believe it’s 10-14 days the trigger shot can stay in your system from what my clinic advices so whilst it could be that showing on the tests if they were very very faint it’s probably more likely a chemical if it was still showing day 15 😢 you might never get a definitive answer though. I’m sorry it didn’t work this month 💜 xx
thanks twiglet2, thats really helpful. It does seems as if I’ll not get a definitive answer where a trigger shot is involved and it’s borderline faint days 14/15 x
oh really re day 15. That is good to know, thanks. My clinic wont answer! They just said test after 14 days which implies it should be out of your system by day 14 but it seems nothing it that simple. I guess I’ll never know for sure if it was chemical or trigger then xx
