Bleeding while pregnant

Hi All,

I’ve posted previously about bleeding each week while being pregnant, now I’m not talking little bits or just wiping and there being blood I’m talking sitting on the toilet and blood pouring out like a tap is switched on. I thought I’d let others know that after bleeding like this constantly for 6 weeks, that I am still currently pregnant and the obstetrician has said it’s a haemorrhage under Bub (I’m lucky it is under Bub and not above it). I have been bleeding like a period non stop for 12 days now and it’s still coming even with clots. I was advised by my obstetrician that I had over 30ml worth including clots under Bub.

I need ladies to know that this happens in 40% of pregnancies so you aren’t alone.

I have to admit I am still so scared when I go to the toilet and it drips out but knowing that it was there before hand is a relief, don’t get me wrong it is bloody terrifying and scary and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but thought I’d let others know it is actually very normal, it’s just not talked about as much.

I have attached a photo of Bub at 8 weeks I think it is with the blood underneath circled.

I am waiting til next Monday for my next scan to see how much the haemorrhage has reduced and to be honest I hope to god it’s a lot. I’m 11 weeks pregnant tomorrow.

I had to pass this on as it isn’t talked about. That’s not to say a bleed isn’t going to be a miscarriage but it isn’t every time.

Sending baby dust to all

That's so kind of you to post it. We are all, I'm guessing, panicking about any, even the smallest speck of blood, and having constant bleeds like that must be a torture! You're so strong to go through it. My mum had twins in late 80s and she was bleeding through the whole pregnancy to the extend that doctors thought a few time Ashe lost the pregnancy. She didn't. They were early but fine.

Fingers crossed it will stop soon ❤️

Trust me i have thought i have miscarried 3 times now this pregnancy due to the amount of blood i have passed. Even showed hubby the massive clot and he was like um that isn't normal is it. It wasn't until going for a third time for a scan and seeing the little bub bouncing around on the scan (didn't go straight away thinking i had lost it) and bawled my eyes out for ages as i believed we had lost bub. The obstetrician said tell people it is normal. Not every time but it is normal and happens so often. I hope it stops soon <3

I cannot imagine what its like for you! I personally only had one big bleed and passed one cloth the size of my palm, at 7 weeks. All was good on ultrasound but the trauma stayed with me for months. Stay strong ❤️

In my home country they suggest bed rest a lot in situations like that

Hi Lauren,Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy!

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing, I think this is really important for women to know. I follow an influencer who had recently undergone IVF and had the exact same as you, and she documented her journey, her name is TaylaBlue for those who might want to find out a bit more.

Really important info your sharing and can put a lot of women at ease with their own situations💕

Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly! X

Yeah i think it is so important to know especially after being told by the obstetrician that it happens in 40% of pregnancies. INSANE!!! I thought blood meant it was over so after so many very large bleeds didn't even believe it was possible to still be pregnant. So relieved I am.

Yes hoping for a smoother second and third trimester.

Hi Lozzagriffiths. The bleed doen't seem to be from the embryo location, not too sure, but rest and keep up with any prescribed medicarion and hopefully you will have better news on Monday. Thinking of you. Diane

My hematoma was way bigger and it got reabsorbed with a bit of rest (not bed rest) but they told me to “take it easy”. I stopped aspirin and Clexane as recommended and once it reabsorbed I started again and no issues. I know it’s worrying but it will be reabsorbed by 20 weeks. Believe it or not, I’m in a chat with other 8 pregnant woman and we all had a hematoma. It’s hard to believe, it’s so so common! Xxx

Oh wow but that is so good it was reabsorbed. I just had the 12 week anatomy scan yesterday and they have advised the hematoma is 8cm to 4.5cms big. It could be reabsorbed and i hope it is but i haven't stopped bleeding in 2 weeks now. It is just dark brown now but has bits of clots constantly coming out. Finding out it is that large has me thinking it will be around for awhile. Gosh I hope it is reabsorbed. Yeah you don't realise how common bleeding is until you start looking into it more. Crazy!!!! xo
