After many cycles using own eggs without a positive pregnancy result we have had 2 transfers using donor eggs and have on both occasions had a positive pregnancy result which is fantastic only to then learn on our first scan at 6.5 weeks we had a blighted ovum and most recently a biochemical pregnancy. Has anyone any good news stories of a similar experience but gone on to a have a successful pregnancy? Did you try anything different? I am taking blood thinners, prednisolone and high progesterone medication. On the first transfer (blighted ovum) I also had IV Intralipids.
We are looking at sperm DNA testing next and possibly PGT Embryo testing before transfer when we try again. My other thought was cycle transfer day, the last 2 have been on day 17 but I have read day 18 and 19 may be more successful. Please can you confirm which cycle day you had a successful pregnancy?
Thanks so much for reading this long post. Any guidance appreciated. 😊

Hiya, I’m so sorry to hear about your losses - it’s so heartbreaking and I know how upsetting it is. We are 18 weeks pregnant after using donor eggs on our 6th cycle. Although I don’t have exactly the same experiences as you, we did PGT-A test our embryos and out of 6, 3 came back normal. I would say it is definitely worth it to avoid heartbreak. Completely individual preference though. We had enough to test so were lucky. I hope your next go is the successful one. 🍀💕
Yes of course. We did a frozen transfer after PGTA testing so I’m not sure if that was different to you. We transferred one embryo on day 24 of my cycle.
We bought 12 eggs and 6 made it to day 5 blastocysts.
We used a known sperm donor and he took vitamins and was reasonably healthy in the run up to donation.
