We have been on this IVF journey for some time now and this year I am 42 and diagnosed with low quality eggs. After a year of egg batching and embryo freezing, few months ago we had our first FET with a 5 day embryo PGS tested which resulted with BFN. Out of those cycles we still have one more embryo day 5 PGS waiting.
We decided to change approach and few weeks ago I had egg collection with a new clinic and had a fresh transfer of two embryos day 2. And of course I tested on day 12 post transfer with a first response test and as seen below a 2nd line was super faint while clear blue digital says pregnant. Worth to mention is that progesterone was dropping from 300 fee days continuously but the clinic was not worried as they were saying is above 100 still and that’s the number they want to see. We did increase progesterone pessaries durien 2 week of waiting. HCG was 5 on day 14 and when tested on day 15 again it had dropped to 3.
I don’t understand why the results are so mixed, any idea or any similar experience like this? Or is it me only seeing that 2nd line 😇. The meeting with our doctor is scheduled mid August so trying to figure out what happened ahead of that.
After two failed transfers I am sceptic if I should even try with our 3rd embryo now and considering trying donor options in Europe.
What would you do, your thoughts are much appreciated 😞 xoxoxo
Hugs and wishing well for you!

I so hate to post this but I had similar and it was a chemical pregnancy. Whilst you have a third embryo I would definitely use it as all cycles are so different xx
Hi Hidden I was thinking it might be that but as I never had a similar issue before I wasn’t sure what to make of it.Sorry to hear you went through the same before 😞…
If you don’t mind me asking have you had another transfer after that? If yes, what is the outcome? Is the body more responsive after a chemical?
I think they say you are more fertile after a chemical for up to six months. They also say it’s ironically a good sign (once you are over the upset and disappointment) as your body knows what it’s supposed to do - so fingers crossed for your next try xx
I say the same as Daisy I’m afraid! I’ve had this on my first round and this most recent one. I would 100% get that 3rd embryo transferred, it could be the one xx
Thank you JudithSS for sharing this, I was so numb when results came that I wasn’t sure how to react. Until it hit me later and was crying it out…Don’t have faith in my body kinda anymore that it can do a miracle…😞
I also had similar (test pic below). My consultant said there was likely something not quite right with the embryo. These tests were from the first 2 weeks of testing - my HCG was only around 14 at the time. FRER are super sensitive so will pick up anything 6 and above. My HCG actually did suddenly jump loads about a week after this (shot up from 14 to 191, to 483 to just under 600) but then started dropping again and I miscarried at 7 weeks.
I am so sorry to hear this happened, it is devastating as one can’t but be hopeful and wish this is it and then dreams are just shattered. But all what remains is just find the strength and carry on 😘. Hope you’re journey to recovery has been a smooth one and full with self care xoxoxo
