Lots of cramping after FET - is this normal? Please help my mind settle

Hello fellow warriors.

I’m new to the group and reading your questions and responses has made me smile and cry in equal measure. This is all so hard and you’re all amazing - camaraderie at its very best!!

So, I’m on my first IVF cycle, 3rd transfer. Last FET ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks (1st viability scan was great but no heartbeat or growth the following week).

I had a FET on 1st July (so I’m 8 days post transfer) and I’m getting a lot of cramping and generally feeling yuck. At first it was just twinges (which is all very familiar) but now it feels like when my period is just about to start. I’m emotional, snappy and teary, but it feels very different to the last cycle.

Has anyone experienced this and had a positive outcome?

Anything that might help my mind calm one way or another would be massively appreciated. All BFPs I’ve had in the past came after a tiny light pink implantation bleed but I haven’t had that this time. I wish our bodies would do the same thing every time to give us some consistency!! :)

Thank you all and sending strength and positive vibes to you.

I had no sign of implantation spotting this time, all the signs of AF can be positive signs for a bfp or nothing at all, there really is no way of telling unfortunately! Sit tight lovely, you'll get to it'd in no time! xxx

Thank you so much. I think I remember the clinic saying that the progesterone and oestrogen would prevent my period from coming and that it wouldn’t start until after all meds were stopped so I’m remaining hopeful 🤞🏻 Xx

I’ve had lots of cramping in the 2ww with all 3 of my IVF pregnancies in fact, it’s my most reliable sign that it’s worked. Everybody’s body is different but it certainly doesn’t mean bad news and your period is definitely coming!

I had a few cramps with my positives after FET. I have no will power I would test with a FRER at 8 DP for sure 🤣

Well that’s me off to the chemist to get some tests then 🤣 I didn’t think I could get a indicative result at this stage so very good to know. Can’t do any harm! Thank you!!

Oh goodness, keeping EVERYTHING crossed for you! If this one doesn’t work for us we only have one embryo left to use and that will be the end of our journey as I’m almost 40 and couldn’t go through a fresh cycle again! I hope you get good news 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Xx
