Hi ladies

I'm abroad and at 42 done a DE transfer with 3 embryos transfered cause of my age. Had to be ICSI as husband has really low sperm count. Now I have done the transfer I'm so scared as iv read so many bad stories about woman over 42 having live births. Anyone this age had healthy pregnancy? This is my 4th round but 1st with DE. πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯

Hi anonmous23 don't worry πŸ˜‰ don't be negative as each person is completely different. Yes you are right there's lots of bad stories but there's a lots of good stories too. So stay positive and pray things can be very good for you too!

I have a neighbour that got pregnant on the 1st round at age of 45, but boyfriend is only 28🀭.

I'm 43, and I am going to have my fist round in August or September and I'm pretty positive as I know thst if it is God wishes it will gonna happen.

Good luck for your

Hey, Congratulations on the transfer. It's understandable to be looking ahead and worrying but it's amazing how resilient our bodies are and I know of a few people over 40 who have had successful pregnancies.

I think after IVF we are going to be more nervous naturally as we have been though so much just to get to a BFP that sticks but modern science can do so much more now. Once you get that great news you just take it week by week focusing on the next mile stone.

Wish you all the best and good luck xx

Good morning - a good news story here to hopefully make you feel better. I’m 42 and am currently 33 weeks pregnant after a DE transfer last year. I’ve been generally fit and well throughout, just heartburn and swollen feet/ankles but loads of pregnant people get those, it’s not age related. Baby is doing really well according to the consultant, midwife and sonographer and it’s lovely to feel him wriggling around. Excited about what is to come. You’ll be fine, just be thankful you have this chance and all will be well xx

Hi, Iβ€˜ve just turned 44 and am 36 weeks! It was my 5th transfer. I have had a blissful pregnancy thankfully. No nausea, no bleeding, no frights. So it can be just as easy as for women in their 20s. Everyone is different. Good luckπŸ’•πŸ’•

Hiya I’m 47 (!!) and DE transfer last November in Spain.. 32.2 weeks now and had to never had a positive test before.. It’s been a bit bumpy but generally I’ve felt really good, no more sickness and bump is doing good. Good luck, stay positive you got this. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you xxxxx

Oh wow thats amazing so happy for you 😊 ❀ thanks for the hope. Xxx

I’ve just given birth at 41. I felt no different than if I was 31. My birth did not go smoothly and ended up with an emergency c section but a c section always an option if you’d prefer it. There’s no risk if you giving birth life though

Don't be scared be positive! I had ICSI and on 3rd transfer had a successful pregnancy aged 42. Then again at 45. A friend of a friend had twins through ivf at 44. There are positive stories for over 42.

So keep the faith. Visualise twice day the embryo implanting and developing. Imagine holding your baby in your arms., what cute clothes you will buy etc. Relax now, drink lots of water, take it easy and do things you enjoy to keep you happy and relaxed. That's all you can do and with a bit of luck it will work.

I have been doing this but is so hard crazy thing is I'm 9 days in and no symptoms what so ever. They out 3 in me one was A and 2 BB and on day 3 so bit of a longshot I think.

josephnsn profile image
josephnsn in reply to anonmous23

It's a bit early for symptoms. I didn't get any till 5wks. 3 in is good, higher chance 1 will be good. Be positive it is going to work and try and relax and do things you enjoy, lunch, out with friends etc

I had my daughter at 40, smooth pregnancy and quick uneventful birth. I’m now 18 weeks with our 3rd DE transfer, all going well so far 🀞. Ignore the horror stories, that’s why they’re on the internet! The 1000s of boring pregnancies & deliveries in over 40’s don’t feature because they’re boring πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Šx

anonmous23 in reply to JenRoy

Did yiu do day 3 or day 5 transfer did you wait the full two weeks to test? πŸ˜‡ I have no symptoms and have a feeling it hasn't worked.

JenRoy profile image
JenRoy in reply to anonmous23

It was a FET and two day 5 blastocysts. My OTD was 11 days after transfer but I tested early and had a strong positive on day 8. Very strong positive on day 11.

Can’t say I had many symptoms at all. I’ve done 6 transfers (3x own egg and 3x DE). I’ve had x3 BFPs and x3 BFNs. They’ve all felt similar πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

I've had an easy and healthy pregnancy at 42, so it's definitely possible. That said....if you are using donor eggs then you have even better odds of success than I did with the 42 year old egg. πŸ₯š Good luck!

Ladies my only thing is that I'm 9 days in and no symptoms again πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜” it was a 3 day transfer , and had 3 put in. A and two BBs let's see still trying to be a little postive.

I didn't have any symptoms either....even in pregnancy! I only knew as i tested early.....naughty.πŸ€£πŸ™ˆxx

anonmous23 in reply to Cinderella5

How early did you test? I did my transfer 9 days ago but on an 3 day transfer, but got no symptoms at all. πŸ˜”

Cinderella5 profile image
Cinderella5 in reply to anonmous23

Oh if you haven't before then please hold out if you can. I don't encourage it. I only did it as a way of protecting myself. I'll be honest though and you can make your own decision....I tested 6dp5dt so the equivalent of 8dpt3dt....I had twins though....you can look at my old posts. Honestly, I know I won't stop you if you do want to test but if you do then get a good test...not those rubbish strips on the Internet.xxx
