Is there any point to take DHEA and melatonin for a chance in natural conception?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been away for a while going through a fresh round of egg collection abroad and we got 4 Agrade embryos on ice after a short protocol.

I still have one last embryo in the UK which I’ll be transferring next cycle. My question is since I’d already ordered DHEA and melatonin a few months back, is there any harm taking them before going through more transfers?

My consultant had previously suggested these to take before a fresh round of egg collection but I didn’t take these when i was going abroad and still have them.

Does DHEA help with natural conception since we’re trying in between cycles or should I just put them away for now?

It helps egg quality so do take it but I’d start on a lower mild dose maybe 25mg a day or 2 tabs a day with food. I have had it for a few months now and although not naturally conceived I do think it helps egg quality. I did put weight on from it though so be mindful of that x

Ps I wouldn’t take it during any transfer protocol only egg collection and stimulation cycles xx

Thanks hun. I was just thinking if there is any point taking them when I’m not planning another egg collection any time soon. I was hoping it might help with natural conception but then again you never know xxx

No harm in trying it- I did take it when ttc naturally but didn’t help. But I do think it can interact with hormone levels like thyroid , estrogen etc. so make sure you have some monitoring in place. X
