Thought of a couple of questions after leaving our appointment which I’m sure people here will have answers to…
We have 4 x day 6 and 2 x day 5 embryos left. They are all the same or very similar grades so I was told the embryologist will decide on the day basically, which they think look best. I’ve been told to take 5 full days of progesterone and we’ll transfer on the 6th day. Does this sound right, that the length of progesterone doesn’t change if you transfer a day 5 or day 6, or is this something I should check?
Also, we’re starting progesterone later, and transferring on a later day in my cycle than usual. This is because they have no availability until 3 days after the day we’ve usually transferred on. Does this make a difference??
Thank you in advance if anyone knows! Xx

I can't comment on the number of days of progesterone because I just tend to do what the clinic tells me to 😅 And I can't remember what I did last time! But I think I've written a question on it before and got some helpful answers re number of days.
And if it's a frozen cycle and your lining is looking okay, you're absolutely fine starting progesterone a day or two later than usual. Some people stay on estrogen for a long time and I know my days have always fluctuated a bit.
I can also confirm that you take the same amount of progesterone for day 5 and day 6 embryos (which feels counter-intuitive, I know!). I've got both a day 5 and a day 6 at the moment and they both seem to be doing fine 🥰
My daughter is a day 5 embryo and my son is a day 6 embryo. With both transfers I took progesterone for the same amount of time.
Also had the transfers on different days of my cycle, I think as long as your lining is where it should be then it doesn’t matter as long as the length of time taking progesterone is correct.
Hmm it was my understanding that for a day 6 to have as good a success rate as a day 5 then it needs to go back on day 5. I have twins one is a day 5 and one is a day 6. But I’ve always done unmedicated transfers following natural cycle and transferring 5 days post ovulation
Thanks this is really interesting - I had never heard of this and after some Googling you’re right, it seems they have much higher success rates transferring day 6’s on day 5. Good to know! X
