We are supposed to start our next IVF cycle on our next day 1. For about a week I have had a dodgy tummy, some diarreah and then the other way too with constipation (sorry TMI). I have seen my GP and they are doing a couple of tests. I spoke to my clinic who said that they would be happy for me to continue if I feel well at that time.
I had a similar thing in November 2020, it went on for about 7 weeks and they did all sorts of tests and nothing came back and then it just went away by itself. I wonder if I have IBS...
My question is has anyone else got / had IBS or stomach issues prior to starting a cycle and did it affect your outcome? My husband and I were already delayed last month and we desperately want to continue if we can but also am mindful about crap outcomes if I'm not 100%. The fact that the clinic are fine with it reassures me but then that doubt sets in...
FYI I have no other symptoms - I feel well and am working, exercising etc.
Thanks all for help and sorry for the TMI.

Hi lovely. As soon as I get nervous I get a bad tummy one way or another, and sometimes even acid reflux! So naturally I’ve had it both times during my IVF cycles on and off. I really don’t believe it made any difference for me, other than being annoying of course! Xxx
I get troubled with something similar. For me probiotics help a little, and cutting down on fibre but everyone’s different. Best of luck with your cycle!x
I have IBS all the time, it’s constant. So it would never cross my mind to worry about it for ivf. That is, if you do have IBS and not something else. But it does sound like the symptoms.
I went through a whole diet thing low fodmap via the hospital but got so fed up in the end I just deal with it. But I have found that porridge can really help keep things going
That's good, i have been eating porridge every day! Can I ask you - do you take any probiotics and if so, have you found them helpful? Sorry to hear the low fodmap didn't work out, I've been looking online trying to follow where I can x
Probiotics didn’t work for me. I tried kefir but to be honest if anything made it worse not better. Low fodmap worked somewhat… I found onions, cauliflower and mushrooms were an issue but I like all too much to give it up. Low fodmap might be worth a try but fyi - I was carb low before this last FET to lose some weight and then I got my BFP. I’m 32 weeks pregnant now- and my symptoms have never been worse (I hear they can get worse or better) but just know - IBS won’t stop ivf working for you xx
