Follicles…!

Hi ladies,

Sorry a second post about these follicles…I just wonder if I should have advocated for myself better and triggered Saturday so I need some perspective.. Last Friday I had four follicles at 16, one at 17, a 15 and a 14mm. I wanted to take my tenth dose of Meriofert and trigger on Saturday night. The consultant said this wasn’t the best plan. I went with his advice to stimulate for another 3 days, until day 12. Yesterday I had follicles at 13,15,17,18,19, 2x22, 23, 2x24 and a 25.

Is it unusual to have so many 22mm+?.. I’m wondering about quality etc. I asked the sonographer whether my 24s or 25 would contain a viable egg and was told it’s 50/50.

I only wanted a handful of mature eggs as I’ve only produced a 4/5 mature eggs in the past and had good results. I’m on a long protocol where I downregulated with buserelin.

As you’ll see from what I’ve written I’m feeling quite wobbly!.. Any advice or experiences welcome!

I think these look like great numbers and sizes. You have every chance of having some great numbers and mature eggs with these x

I think your consultant was bang on, thats a great haul of eggs and you should have some lovely mature ones like Skittles says. Good luck x

I agree with Daisy I think he’s made the right call to maximise the number of eggs you’re likely to get. Fingers crossed for you.

Those sound really good to me. I stimmed for 17 days on each of two rounds and it was only in the last few days that most of them sprang into action and matured - I had been worried about them being over mature/stimulated etc but got viable eggs from all the bigger follicles. So it was the right call for me to keep stimming. Hope it's the same for you.
