11 follicles but only 2 mature eggs

I had 11 follicles but only 4 produced eggs and only 2 of these were mature. Is anyone else in the same boat? Do u know why none of the rest produced any eggs and what I can do to improve this? Xxx

Claire stay positive u still have 2 mature an hopefully both will fertilise. In my previous cycle i had 4 collected only 3 mature and 2 fertilised, this time i took pregnacare before conception, dhea 75mg and ubiquinol 2 × 100mg. I had 6 eggs collected and all mature although only 3 fertilised. U cud try that. I also don't use any plastic containers or drink out of plastic bottles etc it contains a chemical think it's called bpa that can damage eggs. Stay positive r u finding out tomorrow about fertilisation?

I was not prescribed DHEA by the clinic but you can buy it online

Yeah I wasnt prescribed them either, I got them online. Get ur hubby to get them when he in the states cause the micronized ones I struggled to get online. My clinic knew about them but just said they would b interested to c if they made a difference.

Hello, do you know if DHES are proven to help? Do you think they made a difference? I wonder why it's not here in the UK, it always makes me a bit worried when somethings not available in the UK but is in the USA.

Well I picked it up from this forum just. Well I just think i had 3 mature eggs last time and 6 this time not sure if it made the difference but something did.

No side effects thankfully, only 3 of my eggs fertilsedbut 2 of them were 8 cells. My last embryos were a 7 and a 6 cell. I'm not sure if they made a difference but def didn't do any harm. Good luck xx

Hi Claire I don't have any answers yet but my cycle last month was similar; 11 follicles, 7 eggs, only 3 mature. We have our follow-up tomorrow so I'll let you know what the doctor says.

I had a very similar situation to this. First round was about 16 follicles and only 3 eggs. I was terrified of round 2 as nobody had an explanation. Was Ovittrelle your trigger injection? My new clinic said they had had mixed results from this and now don’t use it for this reason. Good luck with your 2! Xx

Stay strong, dust yourself off and build yourself back up to try again. I found the short protocol worked much better for me in terms of numbers of eggs xxx

There isn’t the long ‘down reg’ (Apparently my ovaries didn’t like this at all) before stimulation meds, so it’s a shorter course of medication, straight to stimulation. They would usually try the short protocol if you haven’t responded well to the long one.

I got 13 eggs from 21 follicles 2nd time round (although they timed it wrong & only 2 mature 🙁, which both fertilised)

My first round I had poor maturity (3/9) so on the next two rounds they gave me a 37 hour trigger rather than a 36 hour. I also switched to a menopur/gonal f mix not just menopur. I had much better proportions of mature eggs on both my next two rounds and there are no longer particular concerns around my egg quality, it was just that protocol which didn’t suit me. I’ve done pregnyl and gonasi triggers.
