Update - both tubes removed. When to start next cycle?

Hi, I posted a couple of weeks ago and 2 days ago had both tubes removed due to severe damage. I’ve one precious grade 5BB frozen embryo left and my consultant has advised to start last cycle ASAP. If anyone has been through this, how long did you wait after getting tubes removed to start IVF. As you can imagine, I’m desperate to get going but want to do what’s best for my body.

I personally would allow 3 natural periods. This seems to be about the time scale hospitals and clinics expect you to wait before starting the process again xxx good luck

Best check with your clinic - it will take about 6 weeks for you to recover from the actual surgery Take care of yourself

I know you want to get straight on with your transfer but please let your body heal and let it be in the best condition to accept that precious embryo 💗. My body wasn’t ready for our first transfer and ended in a chemical after 2 surgeries for tubes and cysts.xx

I would definitely wait at least 3 months, even though it will feel painfully slow you do want to be in the best shape for your transfer. I have to wait six months after some recent surgery so I totally get how you are feeling!!! But I just keep telling myself how much I have invested to get my body in the best condition so a few more months won't make as difference (and I am OLD!!!) Heaps of luck xx

I lost both tubes to ruptured ectopics - the second one in the July and I had an egg collection in the September

My gynaecologist told me after one normal period. It took me about 6 weeks to recover after the surgery

Hi Crie1983 - l had similar surgery plus some endo removed. After 6 weeks of surgery - on my second bleed - had my first FET. it wasn’t successful (could be many reasons) and wish l had waited 3 months at least. Currently am now able to do long walks like 5k and even 10 thousand steps but at those 6 weeks l couldn’t and was scared but at the same time eager to start. Wish l had listened to my body but then people are different so maybe at 6 weeks your body will be ready.
