We are just back from the clinic. They are going to do era, and a biopsy to check for microbiome bacteria and endometritis I think this is Alice/Emma? 🤷‍♀️

Didn’t seem too keen on nk testing and auto immune problems although said we could look in to auto immune after the biopsy if we wanted.

I have no underlying health issues that I am aware of but just wondered how you would go about tests for auto immune issues considering there are heaps of different ones and apart from infertility I don’t have any obvious signs 🤷‍♀️

I do wonder if I have done something to the bacteria down there. I used to ‘shower it out’ tmi when I was younger. I thought it was the best way to clean it. 😬😬

Yes, that sounds like the biopsy will include the EMMA/ALICE test to check the microbiome bacterias.

I am not sure how they would check for auto immune disorders, a bit hard to check without specific symptoms I would have thought. Hopefully someone else can advise on that. Does anyone in your family have an auto immune disorder? I know they say that could be a marker and you could perhaps ask for a test then.

You won't have done anything bad so try not to worry. The microbiome tests will check all those things. I know what it is like to question everything in this process though! You are doing all you can, just remember that x

The immune panel doesn’t check necessarily for auto immune issues.It checks your immune system to see if there are any elevated levels in there.

I had high NK cells but no auto immune diseases…

Steroids definitely helped me get pregnant eventually xx

I am on prednisona can I ask what levels you were on I wonder if it needs upped xxx

I was on 20mg a day and I had 3 intralipid drips too xx

Great to know that your clinic is doing the Alice and Emma tests. Fingers crossed you'll get some answers from them.

As others have said, you wouldn't want/need to get tested for specific autoimmune diseases as there are literally hundreds of autoimmune conditions and without symptoms it would be nearly impossible to know which specific ones to test for. It's also possible to have an underactive or overactive immune system that's causing problems without you having fully-fledged autoimmunity.

In general, I think you're better off doing tests for high NK cells and immunology issues at a clinic that specialises in them. Dr Shehata, Dr Gorgy and Dr Quenby seem to be the three doctors in the UK that specialise in the field of reproductive immunology. None of them are in Scotland though, so I'm afraid it might mean a bit (more) travel. So many ladies on here have had success though after getting a personalised protocol from them that it seems very worth it.
