So this morning I caved and tested early. BFN. My OTD is Sunday. Its a frozen transfer. Just wondering if anyone else has tested early and been lucky it turned positive. Wish I hadn't tested but was really struggling this time.

how many days are you after your transfer and is it a 3 or 5 day old embryo? And what test did you use?A BFN always sucks but I do wonder if you could be testing too early?
I got the faintest and I mean really faint on a First response test at 8dp5dt from my FET. Currently 13dp5dt and hoping it is progressing as it should but my lines only got more proper lines around 10 and 11 days post transfer and my OTD was set for 11dp5dt.
Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure what day it was as it was almost 4 years in the freezer but my transfer day was Wednesday last week. I presume today would day 8. I just used a test called early bird but have clear blue ready for Sunday. Really hoping I just tested too early.
Hi, assuming it might be a 5day old embryo as that is generally what they prefer and if they have you testing Sunday that will probably be 11dp5dt. The first response test are best as they use pink dye (less chance for evap lines) and the HCG threshold is 7 where many other tests (even if they say you can test early) might be 10,20 or even 25 as a threshold. Clearblue differs, the digital one with week indicator is threshold 10 yet the other ones that show a blue line still tend to be 25 as a threshold even if it says early test kit. Therefor it differs and like I said at 8dp5dt my one was soo faint it couldn’t have been more than 10 so I bet other tests would have been negative if it wasn’t for the first response test. Amazon sells them the cheapest in a 2 pack and I tend to stick to those… so maybe get those and test again in the next few days.
Thank you, this is really helpful. I've checked the test I used and it was 25 so fingers crossed its just too soon and it wasnt suitable for early detection. I was given a test at the hospital so I am saving that for the OTD.
Yes I saved that one for OTD as well but then only came up very faint so freaked out but the nurse said they always do 🤦♀️ This is my progression picture. Tested this morning again with a clear blue week indicator and it said week 2-3 and I am today 13dp5dt.
Thank you for sharing this. It certainly does give me hope that I either used wrong test/ tested too early. Congratulations on your BFP , wishing you all the best.
Hi Fiz. In a similar boat. My OTD is Saturday (11dp5dt) and I have also tested early and got a negative. On two previous cycles that I got a positive I tested on my OTDs , so I don't know whether they would have been negative earlier! Absolute silliness testing early, but I couldn't help myself! Should also add that I have been scouring the internet for positive stories of people who tested early and their BFN changed to a BFP, and they are out there!
Thanks for replying. Yes, on my previous cycle, I also waited until test day and got a positive, so I'm really hoping I just tested too early. I've been searching the Internet as well.
Fingers crossed for your test on Saturday. I hope it changes to a positive for you.
Hi, thank you for asking. Unfortunately, it was a BFN. We are now going to take time and decide if we want to put ourselves through this again. I am sure I will remain in the background of this group as it has been such a support.
Thank you for your messages; they were really helpful. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy. x
I am so sorry to hear this 😥 I remember my first BFN and I was crushed for days! Definitely take some time to go through all the emotions and some time to re think. You might feel differently in a few weeks about the next steps!
Sorry to hear this Fiz. It's so cruel. Take all the time you need with this grief and your next steps. Sending lots of love. Treat yourself after all this. xxxxxx
What Riri88 said! And right now there are so many hormones not helping on the rationality, as the period probably is pushing through at any moment. You never have as strong a PMS as before the period after a failed ET... Well, I never had as strong a PMS as just before the period after a failed ET... And the good thing is that probably (hopefully) the clinic takes the experiences from a failed ET to see if they can do something differently for next time, so you might actually increase your chances of success a next time! It took me and the clinic 6 ETs, one fresh cycle (which completely failed me) and five FETs to get me my baby 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks, Riri. Definite lines but faint for me. My husband and mother-in-law confirm they're definitely lines! I've just never had "faint" lines before so it's a concern. Enjoying my positive for now! Thanks. ❤️❤️❤️
