First IVF appointment- low amh/ short periods

Hi all,

Myself and my partner had our first IVF apt today which is being completed at a private clinix via NHS funding.

Wondering if anyone else has similar experience, i have low AMH (7) and was told today that although my periods are regular, im most likely only ovulating here and there, as my periods are only a day long and are light. She said I probably dont have a lot of progesterone and will put me on pessaries when the time comes to thicken the lining etc. I was wondering if anyone else has had a sinilar experience and any success or difficulties with this?

They want me to go on the pill (not sure how long, any ideas?) to sync with their own schedules etc. But mine are regular already ao not sure how that works.

Think you should ask the clinic to explain your regime to you again ie why taking the pill etc Take it a day at a timeGood luck with treatment

Have you had full blood work done, progesterone, FSH, Estrogen? These might give you more information. Progesterone needs to be taken on a set day of your cycle (Day 21 but this is based on standard 28 day cycle). FSH I think needs to be taken between Days 2 and 4. Progesterone during IVF is really important and women are usually given pessaries to take to ensure their Progesterone is adequate. Sometimes women need extra Progesterone in the form of injections too.

I have never taken the pill to synch my cycle for IVF but I know plenty of ladies have. If you are unsure of the reasons I would ask for more info from your doctor xx
