Endo scratch, anyone had it? What was it like? Opinions welcome😁

Hi there, just had my telephone consultation for next FET cycle. Consultant mentioned possibility of having endo scratch this time but obviously there's conflicting advice and only anecdotal evidence. It's also an add on of 350quid. Just looking for some stories of those who have had it or know anything about it.

Thanks for reading xxx

Hi there,I had the scratch prior to my last FET. Sadly it was a BFN but as it turns out I have very high NK cells which is likely the reason for the failure to implant.

The procedure itself is short, very similar to a smear test, it's like bad period pain but does not last long. I took paracetamol beforehand.

Fingers crossed for you xx

Thanks for replying, sorry to hear your FET was unsuccessful on that occasion. How are you now? Have they got a plan for the high NK cells? Prednisolone or something? X

I'll be going with steroids this time 🤞

Hi SK. Can be a bit sore, but usually two paracetamol would be enough to sort out any discomfort. Good luck! Diane

Hi SK73,I took 2 paracetamols prior the scratch as was warned it can be a bit like a period pain but I had no pain at all, during and after the scratch. Not sure if this was paracetamol or it was not painful at all.

Scratch didn't make any change for my transfer. I still got BFN. But if you won't mind to spend a bit extra maybe it's worth a shot, just to try something different.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying, sorry to hear that transfer was unsuccessful. Really good you didn't have any discomfort, I'll definitely take some paracetamol before😅

Hey hun. I had two scratches over two cycles before my last transfer as I did nk cell biopsy. Unfortunately mine was a chemical pregnancy, i also had embryo glue and assisted hatching. It’s an uncomfortable process but it’s bearable. If you feel like you want to throw everything at it and don’t mind the cost go for it. I personally won’t try it again xx

Thanks for replying, sorry to hear it was a chemical pregnancy😔 think I may try it once just to say I did it, otherwise I'd wonder what if xxx

Hello! I had a scratch before one of cycles and I got a BFN. I funnily mentioned it to my doctor today ahead of a frozen transfer in March and he said no to repeating unless I really felt strongly about it… which I don’t. Going to use the £150 to buy something nice for myself instead..I think it’s worth ago for piece of mind Atleast once… best of luck love

Thanks for replying and sorry to hear about the outcome, wishing you all the luck for next cycle. Yeah think I will do it once and then leave it, just to say I tried it. And definitely enjoy that treat whatever it is 😘

Hi 👋🏻I found the scratch very painful (even with 2 painkillers) as my cervix is tilted and the doctors couldn’t get it straightened and opened but id do it all again because after 2 BFNs, I got pregnant. There were other changes made for that transfer so I’ll never know if that was the thing that done the trick but it’s worth a go. Lots of luck xx

I had a biopsy, which is a bit like a scratch, to do an ERA as well for a hystological analysis to rule out infection of the endometrium. I am quite a nervy scared person😅 my clinic gave me a Valium and a painkiller beforehand and I sailed through the procedure. I think the nerves is the worst thing. Procedure is uncomfortable but I would not go as far as painful. Got a BFP after te procedure and choose to believe that changes to my treatment plan plus scratch contributed to the success. 🤷🏽‍♀️
