Hi Egec87, I’ve had the last couple of FETs under sedation as I needed a dilatation and had a negative the first time and then a positive. They wouldn’t transfer if they had any concerns. I had a transfer abandoned because of difficulty getting the catheter in and they felt by that point it would hamper the embryo’s chance of implanting because of all the poking around so sedation actually worked better in my case. Basically the sedation won’t have any impact on outcome. Good luck!
Hello ! I had no idea sedation could be used. If you don’t mind me asking what scenario./condition during FET requires them to be ‘poking around’ and hence the sedation ? Sorry, I’m curious .
They had difficulty accessing my cervix because of a bend and narrowing. I ended up having to get a dilatation and after that although it helped, they felt sedation would be better as all the transfers I’d had had ended up being quite difficult and one had to be abandoned.
