So, feeling deflated once more. Had been told once again that we could start IVF next month but just phoned today and my TSH is 0.04 and my 324 is 25.0. they now want me to stop taking my thyroid drug immediately..blood work in four weeks and hopefully go from there. I know the importance of getting it right but my levels have worsened since been on the drugs for three months now. We are also having pgd due to gene on my side so was told last month we could start in March as it will only affect when implantation occurs... something that will be a few months off for us on long protocol. Just feeling pretty crappy... probably doesn't help that my sister in law is being induced today. Anyone any words of positivity? Thanks and sorry for the rant! Just wish I could see a consultant face to face..we are NHS funded and haven't seen anyone since June...and not the consultant since December 2020!

Suddenly stop levothyroxine?
It is important to have your thyroid under control before starting your fertility treatmentIt is a very stressful time for you -make sure you keep talking to your partner Have you arranged a counselling appointment with your clinic yet- you could maybe benefit from talking to a counsellor specially qualified in dealing with people with fertility issues
Thinking of you

Hi Janet, thanks for your reply. I haven't thought about the counselling before but will definitely look into this. I feel like it's hard to talk to anyone who hasn't or isn't going through similar situations such as fertility treatment. My husband, although very supportive, finds it difficult opening up and speaking about our treatment. I've been told that a consultant will ring me in a few days to discuss my case further. Fingers crossed another month will be a step closer...maybe...
Hey, sorry I don't think I can help much but was interested in your post - why are they worried with the low TSH? - Background I am also having to go through PGD due to a gene on my side - I had a chemical at the beginning of jan and got my thyroid tested privately afterwards - it was borderline what they would want (mine was too high) I didn't relate I could be too low?!
Hi, well mine was slightly high in November so they put me on levothyroxine on 100mg which then caused it to go the other way. I think normal TSH is between 2-4.2...and the 324 level needs to be below 22...after the meds I'm now TSH 0.04 and 324 at 25.0. it's all slightly gobbledygook to me but all I know is that wrong levels can cause miscarriages and ectopic pregnancy. I was previously told that it is more of an issue at implantation then so I'm still confused as to why I can't start treatment as I know implantation will be a way off by the time they test the embryo for pgd? May I ask how long it took for them to test for pgd before implantation? It may be worth asking your consultant about thyroid? It's all new to me I'm afraid
You don’t want to suddenly stop it - TSH wants to be around 1 for fertility treatment, I know you will want to rush it but it’s better to let it get under control - maybe discuss with your doctor reducing it to 75 or 50 mcg daily instead and retest in 4 weeks. Xx
