Progesterone units?

Magic_waiting2happen profile image

Hi guys! Does anyone know if clinics in the uk use ug or nmol to measure progesterone? Mine was 23.4 today and the clinic in czech said it’s fine it is one and it’s too low if it’s the other? Thanks!

Try not to panic - bleeding in pregnancy is really common - way more common than we are lead to believe - particularity in IVF pregnancies. Is it dark red blood, or just some spotting? xx

It started off brown and is getting lighter and is red blood now. I have had a few cramps today as well 😢 my clinic have said to up the progesterone but I don’t know if I should go for a scan? X

There is nothing more worrying than seeing blood but honestly it doesn’t always mean something bad.I would call your clinic and see if they can fit you in. They won’t be able to see much or a heartbeat as it’s too early but they will be able to see where the bleeding is coming from (hopefully) xx

Thank you - our clinic is in czech so I don’t know whether to book an early private scan? I have my bloods and progesterones again on Monday to test the levels x

Mine have always used nmol, in which case 23 is a bit low xx

Just to give you some reassurance, my progesterone was 190 nmol two days before transfer and only 29 nmol the day after (taking the same amount of progesterone) and I have twins from that pregnancy.
