Is it cheeky to ask friends to LFT before meeting up?

I just got my bfp last week after being advised to cancel cycle 2 weeks before transfer. I’d been shielding, not seeing anyone outside the clinic, since before Christmas and just need some normality back. I went back to work on Monday and was thinking of meeting friends next week. Do you think it wise in terms of covid? Would you think it’s cheeky if I asked them to do a LFT before- most have actually tested positive since Christmas? These friends are aware of what’s been happening.

Not at all cheeky. Sounds like a sensible thing to do

Not cheeky, I’ve done the same all the way through my pregnancy. I’ve got friends coming to visit me Sunday and asked them to take LFT before coming xx

Congratulations on your BFP!

I have asked people to do LFTs before I see them for pretty much my whole pregnancy (6 weeks to go).

In fact most people offer to do them anyway, knowing our situation.

It’s not cheeky at all, it’s very sensible! Xx

I think it is a responsible thing to do, and they should be proposing doing so themselves!

No not at all. To be honest, if it was me, I would put off socialising as long as possible and give bfp a bit longer. We have asked friends, and we all agreed. However, it's still clear that a couple of people are not as last week 3 out of 6 caught it badly. All have either had it before and been triple jabbed. Fortunately I wasn't able to go. I consider that a lucky escape. Also, depends where you go as others around you could be spreaders. If it took you a long time to get this bfp personally I wouldn't risk anything. If you tell your friends you may have news, but it's too soon to say anything as you don't want to jinx it, but it's more important than ever. Best of luck xx

I’ve asked and they’ve agreed. One is day 10 and still testing positive. If she still is next week she won’t join us
