Dr Quenby or Dr Shehata?

Immune tests and NK cell tests, are they they same? I’ve been in a rabbit hole reading all about both. One does blood, the other takes the biopsy. Any advice please? X

Hey love, I went down the same rabbit hole on this one! Essentially I went with the bloods because my consultant didn't rate the biopsy over the bloods - and it was way less invasive.

Ultimately the information I read said that both were valid, but gave you different answers - I thought that the bloods made more sense to me as they are throughout the whole body.

And the treatment was pretty much the same, steroids and intralipids.

xx

Thanks Mill! I just want to get as much right this time as we can afford. I said 2 more rounds and that’s it 💝

It's really hard to know isn't it. I think ultimately I felt that the bloods were more thorough as they tested a lot more things (I had 8 tubes taken).x

It is! And we’re trying to choose a clinic which feels impossible xx

I had biopsy done by Dr Quenby, great women. Results came back normal but I was on steroids and immunosuppresants anyway and we been successful. I think they are both great so go ahead with your doctor advice blood or biopsy as at the end of the day they will write the protocol for you. Good luck 🤞♥️

I did both - different doctors have different ideas on this one. I ended up with Dr Shehata and his protocol worked for me x

I went down the same rabbit hole!!!

My consultant said that both were important since they give you different answers (as someone else said already), but since I could not pay for both, he ultimately suggested the biopsy because there is more research on that and felt, from his experience, which was more relevant to the transfer (which happens in the womb). It made sense to me, so I went for an endometrial biopsy (all at my IVF clinic).

Hope this helps and doesn't create more confusion!

I was told best to go with Quenby as she does NHS research on this so credentials are more serious. Price is cheaper too, but it's not the whole panel and she will give you a prescription for your clinic, instead of providing the treatment.Good luck!

I went with shehata and now have a 7 month old baby boy. I also know at least 3 women on here who have gone to him after messaging me privately, and they are now pregnant. Both are good. There aren't many specialists in this field, just those two and doctor gorgy. Good luck xx

Thank you all for your responses! For me I feel like I need to get the test done as I’m not doing another 2 rounds for nothing and if it didn’t work I’d always question this. My husband doesn’t think it’s necessary as we’ve “only” had 2 rounds 🤷🏼‍♀️

Agree with you on this one. Don't put yourself through it again without checking first. It's physically and emotionally exhausting isn't it. Good luck x
