I am hoping someone will be able to help put me at ease.
I have had major issues with getting my prescriptions for my progesterone pessaries. The clinic put me on them after my transfer and then told me to continue after my positive test. But they transferred me back to my gp to fill the following prescriptions. I could not get my prescription in time and ran out yesterday.
I am 9wks 4days I will fill the prescription first thing in the morning but am I doing harm by missing a day of medication?
Thank you all xxx

My clinic's supplier didn't deliver my meds on time and I'd run out of pessaries and lubion - I was very stressed as part of my problem is progesterone and I'd had two losses I think because of not being on the right sort. It ended up being about a day and a half late -so probably missed a couple of days at the right dose (and one completely). The nurses at the clinic were apologetic but not worried - they said a day or so wouldn't make any difference as progesterone fluctuates a lot naturally and takes a while at a particular level to have a meaningful effect. They also said provided my levels were ok overall that's all that mattered. That was pretty early on after transfer and by 9 weeks your placenta should be doing most if not all the work anyway and quite a few ladies will be off or tapering off around then, so hopefully it's fine x
This makes me feel better I have missed a whole days worth am and pm. I called the midwife triage number in a bit of a panic and she said she didn’t think it would make much difference but she came across a bit like she thought it was my fault I didn’t have enough.
Anyway I’m collecting some in the morning but I’m just worried that with this I know the risks are higher in the first trimester. This is all new to me just everything makes me so worried.
Thank you! This makes me feel better! It has been such a pain trying to sort out progesterone medication I will be a little glad when I’m done with it but am grateful for its job role xx
I read on a lot of forums that a lot of ivf patients stop progesterone at 10 weeks (you are 9 weeks 4 days) so very close to 10 weeks! And I also read that by 8 weeks or 9 weeks placenta takes over and starts producing progesterone.
