Abdomen discomfort

I started the stimulation on Nov 7th, I had the egg retrieval on Nov 18th and since them I had discomfort in my abdomen. Since then I felt a bit better but it doesn't feel like it's going away. It is not cramps, currently it's at the top of my abdomen. Is this normal? Should I be concern? I thought after a 2 weeks it would have gone away. I am now on my 2WW.

Thanks xx

Hi MammaMia Have you got an app where you can message the nurses at the clinic? Probs best to check with them. It sounds super uncomfortable.

I think I might be able to contact them by email.

Thanks for the suggestion. Right now I am not in so much pain, but I don't know if I should be concern....it might be something silly.

Xx

Hi, Have you been checked for OHSS? That causes bloating and discomfort in your abdomen. I had a mild form of it after my egg collection (they can tell from blood tests) and they also confirmed it with a scan of my stomach which showed fluid around my uterus. Might be worth you ringing them and getting checked x

Hi, I agree with the above post it might be OHSS. Have a look online and see if it matches your symptoms. How many eggs did they collect? (usually more eggs = higher chance of OhSs). Pregnancy also increases the chances, so if you're in your 2ww and it implants then it's more likely (it's the HCG hormone that impacts). Did you also have a trigger shot?Definitely speak to your clinic, they may need you to go to hosp if it gets worse. The main things I've heard to help are drink plenty of fluid (and not necessarily water if I remember... Do check!) plus keeping mildly active (walking?!). Hope it calms down (and also hope your transfer works!!!)

Hi , they got 8, and 4 were fertilised. I had trigger shot.

It is not getting worse but I will call the tomorrow, just for a peace of mine. It is worse at night, in the morning it feels fine. I have taken a test at home and it looks positive, so hopefully this doesn't affect it

Thanks for asking. Getting better...the nurse didn't sound very concern, she told me to walk and drink plenty of fluids. So hopefully that will help🤞
