LOW HCG & high progesterone

Hi I had my HCG results today after BFP a week ago. My result was only 16 and my progesterone was 85 which is high. I’ve got to go for more bloods tomo but preparing for the worse as I’m thinking that a HCG of 16 is very low and not viable. Has anyone had any similar experience to this?

Sorry you're going through this. Hopefully someone else can reply with their experience as I've seen some posts about low HCG levels and late implanters. I think anything over 5 is technically viable so there must be a reason for that. Probably all you can do is wait for you next HCG result and see if it's going up.

Thank you for your thought. Just to update my HCG continued to drop and I miscarried at the weekend. It’s been really tough. I was due to start my IVF treatment this month so it was amazing to see positive test but now I feel so upset and angry because it has delayed our IVF journey again. My doctor has suggested I have the embryo testing in my IVF cycle as he thinks I might miscarry because of chromosome problems. Does anyone have any experience of embryo testing? Thinking of everyone on this journey x

Sorry to hear that - it happened to me twice this year after transfers and it's so upsetting. I'd never seen a positive while TTC naturally for 7 years so in a way by getting a natural positive you may have ruled out a few issues for when you start IVF, although that may not be much comfort now. It depends on your clinic and if you have any complications but I was able to start again with treatment the following month after losses so hopefully you won't be too long delayed. I don't know about embryo testing as we were told it wasn't relevant/helpful for us but lots of ladies on here have had that. x
