Second fresh cycle

Hi all. Hope you’re journey is going well. We’ve been ttc for 2 years. I’ve pcos and dh has low motility and morphology.

Had first cycle in May.

I didn’t have to down reg,

stims 13days,

Fyremadel

225 menopur

ovitrelle trigger

6 eggs.

I had to freeze as risk of OHSS, dh sample wasn’t on the day either. For the frozen cycle we had to wait to see if we had any embryos. when it came to thawing process and fertilisation. Due to emergency freeze the eggs had vacuoles and so didn’t fertilise and obviously no transfer.

Well I am starting a second fresh cycle mid December. It’s different to than the first cycle and I am just asking for tips or if you’ve experienced the same. My meds have changed

I’m also down reg this time.

Any advice or stories more than welcome.

Hi Babytwinkle , I didn't know I had PCOS when i went for my first round and i ended up with OHSS and had to freeze. The second cycle they reduced meds, but not by enough. I also went down reg pre cycle. I had 25 eggs and OHSS again and it is not nice.

I don't have a good news story for you, but I can tell you that I'm now with a new clinic who are doing a modified natural cycle with me.

Thanks for replying. You seem to have had a rough time. It’s good that the new clinic have a new plan.

They never really explained why the meds were reduced and actually said they were the same when I questioned it. That’s why I double checked when i got home and contacted again. Response from them very vague and just dr thought it could lead to better response.

I knew I had to have a freeze all beforehand because My amh is 70.1 and is very high. Due to amh I expected more eggs and so did clinic but I was fortunate not to have OHSS just nauseous and sore. At review dr said they would wait until end to see if freeze all was needed. So fingers crossed i have better luck this time.

I hope the new clinic works out for you and you don’t have such a horrible experience after.

I have PCOS. My AHM is 62. I had 7 days of stims with low dose Menopour, 2 days Fyredamel and then Ovitrelle. They collected 16 eggs, 9 fertilised and 4 made it to blastocyst. I had one transferred (BFP but later miscarried) and 3 frozen. I’ll go for FET soon.

I also developed OHSS for a week I had bloated tummy and a bit of short breath. If they collect many eggs avoid fresh transfer, it is better to have a FET as a pregnancy can make OHSS symptoms worse. It is good they are making some changes. I assume you are having ICSI? Good luck with this cycle! 🌈

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear of your heartbreak. Yeah having icsi. Hope the FET goes well.
