Hi, I'll preface this by stating it kinda depends on your age as AMH usually indicates the amount of eggs you have left and their potential quality, FSH is the hormone which stimulates follicle production. You'd also need to look at your LH and testosterone levels. I've roughly the sane AMH but I'm 41 so statically speaking I have fewer good quality eggs compared to someone who is younger but my FSH is normal. Read a few articles by an IVF doctor call Dr Sher, he talks in depth and the relationship between AMH, FSG etc.

Ask your clinic/nurse to explain your results to you As previous post says all depends on your age and other blood results as wellGood luck

I really regret focusing so much on my AMH levels. It caused me so much stress when I found out my levels were deemed low. Some consultants make you believe that AMH is the ultimate measuring tool of how successful your ivf will be but others, like my clinic, just take it as an indication of how much medicine you can have. They have found that AMH can fluctuate and that some women can have low levels but respond well to treatment. Some women have found that in subsequent tests their level is (much) higher. I have had 4 cycles over 3 years with the same medication and the older I got, the lower my AMH, the better the outcome in terms of blastocysts. You may have less eggs retrieved due to AMH but it doesn't say something about the quality. That your FSH is at the right level is really good (mine was as well). You can only really tell how you will respond when you do your first cycle. And after this your clinic will look at how to improve- if necessary. Good luck!

Hi Hun thabk you so much for such a positive response. You made my day. That's what I wanted to believe. The first consultant was so negative about everything whereas the second consultant said completely opposite of what the other said. I found my doctor basically and he said what exactly you said. May I please ask if you could pm me where you have had your IVF as I am looking for more clinics and more opinions where to do IVF xx

hi lovely, I'm in the same boat. I have had awful advice from NHS and completely contradictory from my private clinic. exactly as said above, amh should be used with fsh, lh and AFC to decide in ivf treatment. you may get less eggs, but that doesn't mean low quality. I would recommend reading 'it starts with an egg' really helped me xx

Same Hun. I think with NHS clinic they don't like when we are trying to apply for NHS funding. Anyways I had a very bad experience with them. Whereas with my private clinic everything is good and promising and completely opposite of what NHS clinic said. They are so caring and always happy to answer any of my needs and questions. They told me that I have low AMH but all other hormones are normal. So I was wondering how it will respond to the stimulation?? Xx

yes completely agree with this, I had exactly the same. the NHS nurse kept forcing me into the menopause box, even though my fsh and lh are normal. They sound really good, you just have to trust there doing the best protocol for u. The main thing with stimulation is a normal FSH. AMH is how many eggs you have. so if your FSH is normal, stims should work. just try to focus on quality not quantity xx

Thank you for your reply Hun. After I met NHS doctor I promise myself that I I a not going to deal with them and its not worth my time and stress they caused us. I don't know how can call themself a doctor when they discourage patients like this. I always thought that doctors at heroes but clearly not all of them.

Anyways I found my perfect doctor who I trust. You know this journey is not easy. You need a good doctor.

Have you had ivf treatment yet? What protocol they advice you? They said that I will be on high stimulation but I am worried xx

your exactly right, I felt the same way. the stress they can put you under is unreal. Have you decided on a protocol? Yes we have done one round on high stims, but my FSH was high at the time. I had 13 eggs, 3 grew incredibly fast and I had my egg collection very early, as they were already 22m. But sadly did not mature. This time my FSH is normal, my new doctor wanted to do totally different protocol. doing down regulation with Fyremadal, letrozole and overleap as stims. Trying to slow it down, as my cycle can be to short. how about u? xx

Ah hun sorry to hear that. Does if mean high stimulation doesn't really work? This is first time I am dealing with ivf, we had our consultation in October and I had a covid before Xmas so I needed to recover for IVF treatment. We have another consultation tomorow. They are saying Antagonist protocol which I only know that it's high stimulation. But i am worried that what it can do to my body. I wonder if the low stimulation protocol would work ? So I am not familiar with this process at all and I always have hot tons of questions and it's and buts.

I also have a very short and light cycle.-22-26 days. Is it a problem?

Xx

no problem! I'll answer everything I can! antagonist protocol is usually a short protocol. which means your not taking stims for as long. They will know what amount of stims to try based on your AMH, FSH, LH and AFC. they can work out how much to stimulate your ovaries to get the best amount of foliclies and growth. Everyone is so different, so don't worry they will know best. Yes I'm short and very light and my linning can be thin, so this round I'm taking oestrogen to help. they will give you a drug that stops you being able to ovulate, so Don't worry about that. they can hold that off as long as needed, so you can't start a period early. xx

Yes, its good. high FSH indicates more severe dimished ovarian reserve and poor response to IVF. Best
