Hi amazing Ladies. 👋 I’m 39.5 years old. Coming to my 5th cycle. Average 4 follicles. My embryos won’t implant. I have severe endo (stage 4) and the last surgery ravaged me. Just starting syranel (sniff meds) which I have now learned is “next level” IVF in that it takes longer and shuts down the ovaries to paralyse the endo. Sounds scary huh!? Ladies - what tangible results did you find? Example: more follicles? Less pain? How will I know if syranel actually works?

Hi VMJ. Busrelin switches off your ovaries and shrinks the lining of your womb. Ascan is done to check out for any cysts on the ovaries before proceding with the stimulation drugs. If any large cysts are seen, they may want to drain them before moving on. Good luck! Diane

Hey I’m 38.5 and also on 5th cycle only get 2-3 eggs and max 4 follicles so we’re pretty similar though I don’t believe I have endometriosis (had a Hysteroscopy last month to check but no laparoscopy not sure if the Hysteroscopy would’ve shown it if I had it at all?) I’ve just finished down regulating on the contraceptive pill and Syneral. I have absolutely no side affects from Syneral it’s actually nice to take a break from the injections it felt like a nice holiday this part. It’s like any nasal spray where you get a bit of a weird taste down the back of your throat. Syneral stops you ovulating. The down regulating suppresses your own hormones so the drugs completely take over once you commence and the idea is for us poor responders we might get one or two more follicles/eggs because they are all being recruited and growing at the same time! This week I stated my FSH plus added human growth hormone for the first time. I’ll let you know how it all goes, understand I’m not much help for comparisons on improving the endo side of things but seems we get similar results at pick up. X

We’ll I’m on day 15 but follicles were small!Left, 12, 8, 7. Right, 7, 4. So it’s taking longer than expected but my specialist says it’s totally normal and on this oestrogen priming cycle it can take some time for things to kick in. I just hope after two months down regulating and stimming it doesn’t get cancelled especially because the human growth hormone was $1500! Where are you in your cycle how’s everything looking? Xx

Yes I heard it takes time. I’m on day 4 of my period and have my first scan next Wednesday. I stupidly spent the first 1.5 weeks doing 2 sniffs per day instead of 4 sniffs of synadrel! So I have no idea what to expect next week. I typically have so few follicles and I am not holding my breath. But praying that over the next few months my thoughts endo shuts down!! I’ll keep you posted after my scan next week.

The health system here in Australia is good, we have Medicare so we get massive discounts on medication. My entire stuns and Nasal spray for this cycle cost $250.

Oh I thought you were in UK I’m in Australia too! Where abouts are you? Yeah I know the feeling of not seeing many follicles I’m stoked when I see 4! What clinic are you with?

Hey there! So update: looks like downreg did something. I ended up with 9 embryos on retrieval. 5 went to cleavage. 2 in the end were transferred. They had become C-grades by transfer. It turns out? I had my period so was annoyed… but in fact, it worked. For a window. Something implanted - I got pregnant - but lost the pregnancy. So I’m on Day 5 of some heavy bleeding. But something implanted. Am started down-regging again once my bloods return to baseline. A bit emotional, but I’m staying optimistic. How are you??!!

Wow that’s great progress! Mine was a total disaster! After two months and a million injections plus Saizen they cancelled egg collection as only had 1-2 follicles so switched to iui. It failed so now back trying the flare protocol this will be my 7th round I’m not sure how long I can cope doing it with the constant disappointment. I’m happy you had a better outcome from switching things up. Hopefully next round is your time! X
