1st scan during stims… only 5 follicles… is it worrying?

I had my first scan yesterday whist being on stims. Could see only 2 follicles on my left and 3 om my right side- the sizes are between 8-14. A bit worrying 😔… i am having my 2 more scan on Monday and Wednesday respectively. The nurse said.. there are couple of small ones… hope they grow. How many follicles were there on your first scan? And did the numbers increase?

You could get more follicles recruited. But I do understand your worries. I once cancelled one of my cycles because there wasn’t many follicles and then unfortunately on the next round we didn’t get any more… so it’s worth considering that this could happen if you did decide to cancel. Good luck x

I only had one scan and there were 4 follicles. I was devastated because you hear of people with such high numbers. They actually collected 7 eggs and we got 5 blastocysts. Due to give birth any day from that first fresh transfer.

It's truly quality over quantity. Wishing you all the best of luck x

Wouldn't worry. Medically speaking I have no reproductive issues they are all male factor on my husband's side and throughout my icsi cycles - I did 4, one of which was cancelled as my body refused to respond - I had 5-9 follicles and a couple of late growers too. You'll be pleased to hear in my 4th cycle that was successful and I'm now coming up 30 weeks, I managed a late 7. So hang in there x

Keep strong!!! I had 6 follicles in left ovary and 2 small in the right, we got 5 eggs all from left. Got a call yesterday morning 3 fertilised so waiting for another call tomorrow morning to let me know if transfer is tomorrow or 2 days after. I am dying each time when phone rings. I went through hell with 7 fibroids operations keep coming back and even now I have 10 small fibroids outside the uterus. Clinic wouldn't even accept us for ivf but thankfully to my beautiful gynecologist after writing a letter to them was accepted and now whatever God gives me. I am 40 with amh around 3. something. Just wanted to say stay strong, if anyone went through hell it was me but still have my hopes up 🤞🤞🥰😍. To all of us strong ladies to have our positives one day!!!
