Cycle nr 9 Fail

Ugh well the title says it all. How many cycles should one do before giving up. i was hopeful that this time it would work as i was on decapeptyl and was hoping that would make a difference. maybe i should look into egg donation not really sure. i hope everyone else is doing good and are having a positive results as this is a very difficult road. but once u see those two lines it will all be worth it. much love to every fighter on this platform.

Hi lovely, so sorry to hear this. What have you tried so far? Have you done much extra testing? We had 5 fails before doing ERA and Immunology (and PGS) which helped us. xx

we did allot of tests i think we covered everything but our egg quality is not the best and the endometriosis and the adonemyosis is not helping

Have you done any testing to figure out possible issues? If you did the most common tests like PGS, ERA, NK cells etc and still no luck after 9 transfers, I would recommend donor eggs.

i dont think we did the ERA everything else we did. I'm getting 7 embryos usually nd 2 blastocyst left on day 5 so allot of the eggs r not making it and i think that indicates bad egg quality. also the adonemyosis and endometriosis is not helping with the implantation

2 x day 5 blasts are not bad resuts depending on your age. Have you done dna fragmention and uterine enviroment tests. A lot of ladies swear by ERA too. Im sorry its been a difficult journey for you x

You are one tough woman! I’m at cycle 5 (all from scratch not transfers). I ask myself when’s time. I think if you can afford it and can find the strength keep going as it is a numbers game. That said as the ladies say above make sure you self advocate and do all the investigative tests, switch specialists etc. Are you getting eggs at collection? Blastocysts? Transfers? In that case I’d crack on but find out why maybe they aren’t implanting. I’m 38 so not much older than you and unfortunately as we age it can simply be down to egg quality

Sending you hugs. After a disasterous first NHS cycle our ambivalent consultant mentioned donor eggs straight away as it ‘might be crappy eggs’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ eventually we moved to private treatment: six cycles later, the other three with PGT-A we got pregnant using my own eggs. Hope this helps xx

You’re doing great… it is exhausting isn’t it when you feel like you aren’t getting any answers. We’ve had a really mixed bag of results from each fresh cycle. For example we had a cycle with 5 blasts and 2 were normal, then a cycle where we got nothing by day 5 following by a final cycle where we got 6 blasts and 4 were normal. Similar drugs protocols for each… the only difference being different immune protocols and a laparoscopy to deal with some Endo before this last one. Never got any clear answers just felt like each time he would tweak or add something extra in like steroids or humira. Keep your chin up you’re doing ace xx

thank u soo much that's what the doctor said that each cycle is different. it always feels good to hear pep talk from people that have been tru the same. ur super strong too to go tru that many cycles.

did u take breaks between cycles. did u do any frozen transfers ?

Across all 6 cycles (bearing in mind cycle 1 and 5 I had nothing to transfer from) I did 9 transfers… two fresh, the rest frozen. One of the frozens was a double transfer of two embryos. Cycles 4 and 6 where the ones that were all frozen transfers because we were doing PGT-A so after biopsy on day 5 they are frozen abs you have to wait 2-4 weeks for the results. In between each frozen I always had a break of at least a month or two as he would put me in a one month prostap injection. Often in preparation for the fresh cycle itself I would have a longer break either the 3 month prostap or sometimes buserelin etc just to give it all chance to make my uterus calmer etc. The last two transfers I had humira to suppress my immune system so that involved an even longer break as I would have one injection a month or so before the FET then another one a week before the FET. Hope this helps. Xx

As a guide timescale my latest fresh PGTA cycle was done in jan/feb with the frozen transfer happening in May. Biggest gap was always between the cycles itself and the transfer with smaller gaps between any frozen transfers xx
