I’ve been told to wait for next period then can start again. Best check with your clinic. 💙

waiting for two normal cycles is the best for the body to adjust to the shock.

It varies, on how many weeks the miscarriage occurred and doc opinion, but you pretty much need to do what your clinic recommends because the will be doing the transfer. At least one normal cycle. If you are younger and have frozen embryos may wait longer, if you are older and don’t have time to loose to start another cycle sooner the better. Good luck

Before this FET I had to have the bleed and then could start again on the next normal period. However my NHS clinic wanted you to wait an extra natural period - I don't know if that's due to resources or a medical policy. But these were early losses. So it depends on your clinic and if you feel physically and mentally ready. 🍀

Thanks for your reply, I hope everything is going well for you with your most recent FET. When u say u had to have the bleed and could could start again on the next normal period was this 2 periods then?

Yes, have my 7 week scan this week - very anxious but further than we've managed before, thank you.

I was completely confused about when we could start but looking back at the last one, when it became clear that it was a chemical the clinic said stop meds and have the bleed from the loss. Then if I wanted to go straight into a FET, to call them on day 1 of my natural period to have a scan a couple of days later and start meds. So there was no break - looking at the dates there was just less than 5 weeks between the bleed immediately after stopping meds from the loss (that happened within a couple of days), and starting the FET meds on day 3 of my next period. But that's with a very early loss. If it's been later then your clinic may want you to wait in case you need to recover. My NHS clinic had a policy of having at least two 'natural' periods before starting again whatever the circumstances.

So sorry for what you've been through x

I went for another transfer after two and half months...

Hi Vicky, it does depend on how far gone you were but you can discuss with your clinic at your follow up to review your miscarriage, the clinics may differ slightly but I had a D&C at 8w2d on the 23rd of august, then bleed for around 9 days, we’re booked in for a FET on the start of my next cycle. Wishing you luck xx
