I'm asking this question because my doctor told me to wait for my period to come , and start taking estrogen from day one , and then go to see him in day 10 , I feel like it will be late if something went wrong with my lining or if there is a cyst , especially that this cycle , I went to see him in day 17 , my endo was at 18 mm , and I had corpus luteum cyst.
I don't want to waste another cycle , I was waiting for a fet since April, and everytime something goes wrong 😞

Hi, I'm in a very similar boat as I have also been waiting since April / May to start my Frozen embryo cycle. With odd periods being the problem, it's taken a while to start. I was also to start estrogen on Day 1. My clinic's standard approach and the one written on my protocol was actually for my first scan to be on Day 14! However I felt this was far too late to address anything, including if I needed different doses of the medications, so agreed an earlier scan with them. This earlier scan was Day 9 which seems in-keeping with your Day 10 scan. I guess they want to wait long to be able to tell what response the body is having to the estrogen, if they scan too early maybe they don't expect to see much. However, if you are concerned, have a chat with your clinic - that's what I did x
Thank you for your reply, I'm less worried now that is the case for everyone, the clinic don't communicate much and it drove me crazy , I'm freaked out person by nature so this infertility journey make me more stressed.
All these years it feels like constantly postponing the start of FIV. First problems with my thyroid, checkups, bad advice or not taking us seriously by the doctors, doctors no looking at test information that I am bringing, my period going crazy because of the thyroid medication, so now I have to take the pill.... if everything goes well I have my appointment on Nov 3rd for the scan, but at this stage I know something else will go wrong.
some days I feel more frustrated than others, especially because it is getting closer but is still out of reach, but then I see that I am in the right path and it is going to happen..... the question is when!?
I can tell you this..... I will come back here and share it with all of you😀
Hi Titawine. Try not to worry about the timing, you can always check with the clinic, but I feel they are just chercking fo any cyst formation before continuing. Fingers crossed all will be OK. Diane
My clinic does the first bloods and scan on either days 1-3 and then almost every other day thereafter. I’m with the Lister clinic. Tbh they almost overdo it because it’s a pain constantly going in, but at least it keeps me up to date on what’s going on and helps them monitor follicles etc to know whether to alter the meds. I would insist on a scan before the. If it was me.
I did that when I was on stimulation, now is a frozen embryo transfer in an artificial cycle, so basically they block your body so it's doesn't ovulate and your lining start to build with estrogen pills, that you start progesterone 5 days before transfer.
Oh i see apologies. When I had my FET they did my bloods and scans every other day too but that was on a natural cycle with progesterone pessaries only, it was probably still overkill tho.
Hmmm. I went for ultrasound and blood work at least every other day after getting my period and starting the meds. I guess every doctor is different. But maybe see if they can see you more often. I'm sorry
Hi my clinic always scan on day 10 after my period to check the lining thickness and then if they are happy it is thick enough they start me on progesterone and book in for transfer, as you start taking the estrogen on day one of your period you shed your lining for a few days and then it takes time for it to thicken back up so I’ve always been happy with the 10 days and it worked for me 😊
I see, thank you maybe because my lining are getting thick quickly that's why I'm getting concerned (last scan it was 18 mm at day 17, and the cycle before 12 mm at day 15 )
