I've just had my second scan (day 11) for my second round of IVF and within 3 days (scan 1), I went from 17 follicles (ranging in size from 2mm-11mm) to 4 follicles (the largest being 10mm and 12mm).
I'm on Menopur 150AM + 150PM and Cetrotide. The doctor couldn't provide a reasonable explanation for this. Looks like I'll have to continue stimming for a few more days - EC will be delayed (we're abroad for IVF too, which doesn't make this bit any easier). I'm feeling really deflated and am worrying that I haven't looked after myself well enough, haven't eaten well enough, etc.! What can I do to improve the follicle growth? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Please share your stories as I really don't know what to do now, really worried this cylce will fail!
Last cycle we managed to have 1 good embryo only. There's so much that's gone into this in terms of energy, heartache, money, etc., and I'm worried we won't be successful! Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!! xx

Try not to stress as much as you can. Every round is different and you’ve still got another couple
Of days to see how things work out. Such an expensive experiment 🤯 v little you can do but rest, drink lots of water and see what happens. It’s the out of control part that’s the hardest. Don’t be afraid to question your protocol and ask why etc Sending hugs 💐😘😘😘 these days are so so hard 😘💐💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you RhinoCat, I know you're right! But it's so difficult not to worry! I'm relaxing and trying to take the days as they come now. Booked is in to a musical and an exhibition this weekend to take my mind off of the scan on Monday... barely slept last night for all the worrying!
It sounds to me that they just don’t count follicles below a certain size so they will still be there but they are just still small ie below 8mm although different clinics have different cut offs for including in the count
Thanks for this, Ivfgotadream, this makes perfect sense to me! I think the ones under 10mm weren't measured as I've requested the measurements and it turns out there are currently 3x10mm and 1x12mm. So I think we'll have to go with the clinic's strategy to keep taking the meds and hoping for proper growth. I've read on here that some women have their ECs on days 18 and even 21, which gives me hope that it might still work out for me! x
