FET 2ww

Hi all, I’m really just looking for some advice please.

All going well I am booked in tomorrow for my first FET and just wondering what everyone did regarding exercise/food/vitamins during their 2ww? I have previously went through ICSI and had one unsuccessful fresh transfer and just wondering if there was anything I could do different this time around to hopefully have a successful outcome? I am usually very active & do weight training and cardio, but when going through my last 2ww I stopped all exercise apart from walking however I have been advised by my acupuncturist to do as little as possible and just lie down a lot and basically chill?

I have also been reading some articles online and I am panicking a bit as I had my hair roots dyed today (I am bleach blonde) and stupidly never thought this would affect my IVF but it seems I shouldn’t have done this🙈I’m terrified incase I’ve ruined my chances before I’ve even had my transfer.

All advice is greatly appreciated thanks!

Hi aquarius - I think everyone’s going to have their own journeys as to what worked for them. I was all signed up for a rest for my 2WW and eating pineapple core and all that. I even made sure we would book a posh taxi back from my transfer so that there wouldn’t be any bumps on the way. Then everything went wrong personally and work wise leading up to my FET and I was so stressed on the day. I think my Dr could sense it and she gave me good advice and she said - just do everything normal and look after yourself. I don’t know it spoke to me because I put all my trust in her. Straight after my transfer I took a walk out of the clinic and walked for a bit to get myself ice cream - which apparently is a big no no. I’d been working to make everything so perfect and letting go helped me because I’m such a control freak. I thought if this is going to work to have to just not be so rigid . Anyway I did my walks and worked and ate crisps but healthy food too and just tried to take it easy and not be too hard on myself. I figured if I’m happy then my bean could be happy. Sounds odd but I found myself telling it that it was wanted and I hope it would stick around and join our family ( of just my hubby and I ). Anyway I got my BFP and now 12 weeks . Not sure if that was a factor but just wanted to illustrate that don’t worry yourself too much and freak out. You’ve gotten this far and it’s been a hard road already so don’t overthink or over burden yourself with everything you might be doing wrong. Not sure if I’ve been helpful but sending you the best of luck and crossing everything for you tommorow and onwards.

I agree with everything bearblue says. Please don't be hard on yourself and worry yourself too much. Mine was a fresh transfer and I went back to work the day after, so definitely not laying still at home resting up. The best advice I received was that those people who conceive naturally don't even know at that stage what is going on in their bodies and don't modify their behaviour and still have successful pregnancies, and so unless medical advice specific from your Dr tells you different, just carry on as normal. If your embryo is going to stick, then it is going to stick.

I'm now 31 weeks pregnant if that helps?!

Wishing you all the best of luck x

Thank you so much I really appreciate your advice & congratulations on your pregnancy💛I definitely think I just need to go about my life as normal as much as possible & try not to worry so much. I think I’d probably drive myself crazy trying to lie down and do as little as possible anyway haha! X
