I have PCOS so my periods are irregular at the best of times (usually appear sometime after 6 weeks).
I’m having my first FET this cycle, so they put me on the pill for 21 days and said when I stopped it period would come and we could start the long awaited cycle.
It’s day 4 after stopping now and there’s no sign of an incoming period. Normally I’d have tenderness and be arguing with inanimate objects off at this point.
So for people who have used the pill in this way, how long did you wait for your bleed? Where there the usual pre-period symptoms? And did you have reg periods before this?
Thank you- This is such a great supportive community.

Hey 👋🏻 Fellow PCOS sufferer here. I’ve only been through 1 FET cycle but my bleed was really late after stopping the pill. I told the clinic and they called me in for an extra scan, about 10 days after stopping the pill, which showed my lining was breaking down and a bleed was imminent. They thought the late bleed was due to an overlap in medications. I managed to stick to my treatment plan as it was luckily, they just tweaked my meds slightly after that. My periods were fairly regular beforehand due to being on Metformin. The nurse doing the scan recommended I do a rain dance (menstrual dance?!) 😂 which seemed to help xx
Glad to have helped. It stressed me out, the one time I actually wanted a bleed! 😅 They had me on Norethisterone which I think might be mini? My treatment stayed on track despite the hiccup, so don’t panic too much. Hope all goes well with your scan, remember you’re in good hands! xx
