1st time Clomid and side effects

Hi all, after a 3 year try, natural conception and pregnancy loss during our 14 week scan, we are on round 3 of our IVF journey. Our cycle was pulled during our last scan (2 days before transfer) as only 2 follicles. This is our last try as we are financially crippled. Question, they’ve started me on Clomid, just finished day 5, thank god! But the side effects have been horrific… blurred vision, wanting to commit blue murder, bloating, nausea etc. Just wanted to know if anyone has had treatment with and without Clomid and what the success rate looks like. It’s just I feel that our consultant thinks it will have helped but my body feels fooked 😫

Hey! I can’t be much help as I’m only just literally just about to start my second round and using clomid/menopur. These side effects don’t sound fun at all! I was hoping for a slightly easier hormone round with having much less drugs than my last one. Hope you’re feeling better soon and wishing you lots of luck for the rest of the cycle xx

Thanks for the reply, I had my second jab this week so might be a combo of things - body overload. Best of luck hun x

Those are not nice side effects.

Be careful that clomid in low ovarian reserve can lead to thin endometrium. I would monitor one cycle to see how it goes. And do vaginal estrogen supplement if needed. Good luck!

Oh really? I didn’t know that so thanks. I have my first scan on the 16th so I’ll speak to my consultant. Thanks again xx

Yes, good to talk to him. Cannot use the estrogen while on clomid. Need to start right after stopping clomid. Best

I have Pcos and anovulatory cycles, I did 6 cycles with Clomid (2 tablets for 5 days), I had zero side effects and always ovulated, once I had double ovulation. Speak to your doctor, perhaps there is an alternative for you such as Letrozole. Good luck!
