This is probably a long shot but does anyone know of a clinic that will solely do the NK cell blood test?
All the ones I’ve spoken to are based in England (we’re Scotland) & tie it into a full treatment plan, which just isn’t feasible for us.

Hi lovely
It’s not a clinic but you can get a NK cell test (as well as lots of others) through Fertilysis - fertilysis.com/tests/reprod.... You’ll still need to go to a phlebotomist to have the blood drawn, but hopefully you can ask your GP to do it or pay privately to have it done xx
Hi soccerkt6, thanks so much for this. Can I ask did your GP do the bloods for you & how did you ship them? xx
Hiya, I haven't actually done any blood tests through them yet. We've used them for a sperm culture for my husband though and the process was very smooth. Once you have your sample, you complete a form on the website and Fertilysis organises for DHL to come pick up the package. You pay for everything beforehand and Fertilysis handles the logistics, so it's pretty easy. xx
I had mine done 5 years ago at Wessex fertility clinic at Southampton. It was £300 for the blood test itself , £50 for not being a patient there and £30 administrative charge! I found this test most useful. I have raised nk cells and had steroids with my now 2 year old daughter till 12 weeks pregnant and following 3 losses ( one late loss, 2 early ones) I've been allowed steroids by my miscarriage specialist and im 9 weeks and so far it's going well . Im sure the steroids are the difference Xx
Hi Jess1981, congrats on your latest lil bundle of joy! This gives me so much hope. Thanks for the response, I’ll check them out. Wishing you & a safe & happy pregnancy 💞xx
I looked into this last week. Professor Quenby and Professor Brosens are some of leading experts in this field. They are based at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. You can either get your GP to refer you to Professor Quenby’s clinic if you have had two or more miscarriages. The waiting time was 12 weeks when I checked last week. Or alternatively you can self-refer to Professor Brosens’ Implantation Clinic which is self-funded and checks for NK cells. The cost is £450.
You can contact Professor Quenby’s medical secretary: Amber Fitzpatrick on Amber.Fitzpatrick@uhcw.nhs.uk or call Professor Brosens’ Implantation Clinic on 024 7696 7528.
Hope this helps.
If giving details of private clinics, costing etc could you please use private message Thank you
