Brown spotting

Hi

Feeling anxious as I have what looks like brown blood and I am 7 weeks pregnant. No pains or cramps and it’s only when I wipe after I have been to the loo. Just wondering if it is normal or anyone else had this?

So sorry you must be worried by try and stay calm, you will find so many stories on here or people who have spotted throughout their pregnancy - it’s very normal. They say only worry if there are cramps or lots of heavy red bleeding

Rest up for a day or so just to be sure

Good luck xx

Good morning. I awoke one morning to a gush of brown blood. I if course went into immediate panic. Called the epu who called me back and asked if I had any pain, if there was fresh blood and if there was enough to soak a pad in an hour. If not I was not to panic as it was likely to be the remnants of implantation bleeding. If that, then it is likely it will stop within a couple of days.

If it turns to fresh blood then it could be any number of things and lots of people have stories of bleeding, sometimes with cramping and clots and still been ok. But I would definitely call the clinic for reassurance as they are the ones who know you and your particular circumstances. Xx

I was 7 weeks last Monday and woke up to brown blood when wiping. It scared me so much I booked in for a private scan the following morning, all was fine on the scan and they think the blood just came from the cervix where its so delicate at the moment. Try to book in for a scan if you can for the reassurance. x

Thank you this makes me feel less worried! Trying to get booked in for a scan to reassure myself all ok. How many days did the blood last for? X

It only lasted for one morning, but my clinic did say not to panic if it happened again, as apparently is really common. Goodluck with your scan x

Had the scan and all was fine thank goodness! The clinic didn’t seem to think it was anything to be concerned about x

Really pleased to hear all is well. I had spotting throughout this pregnancy between 6-14 weeks & at 10 weeks I lost fresh blood with clots & was amazed my baby was fine! My midwife told me brown spotting isn’t anything to worry over ( easy for her to say!) only if it’s red does it need checking out ( hope that makes you feel better?)

All the best with your pregnancy ❤️xoxo

Is it an ivf pregnancy and are you on pessaries? Brown spotting isn’t usually a cause for concern x
