So it’s so weird moving from private to nhs.

Totally diff drugs πŸ€―πŸ˜–

Anyone any experience of :

Nasal

Spray Synarel twice a day

Then add in:

Injection:

300 Bemfola day 23 for 8 days then scan etc….

I have only known down regulation Prostap and either Menopur or gonal f πŸ₯Ί ????

Anyone used this nhs protocol drug set who can give me tips etc?

Thanks in advance

The nasal spray is pretty commonly used in the NHS. It acts just in the same way as prostap but it's a gradual build up. Again Bemfola is much the same as Menopur but I've heard of a few ladies responding better to Bemfola than Menopur so might be a good thing! Best of luck lovely!xxx

Oh , Menopur was crap for me …. I was hoping it was more

Like the gonal f πŸ₯Ί Good that the spray is like Prostap πŸ‘ŒπŸ»thanks cinders 😘 how are you and the miracles ?

Bemfola is pretty much the same as Gonal F, both are just FSH whereas Menopur is a mix of FSH and LH xxx

That’s good then , I think. Sure no two rounds are the same anyway. , I’ll just have to roll with it and try to get my hopeful

Hat back on 🀯

I used daily buserelin injections, which is v similar to Synarel, and Bemfola for stims. Seemed to work well for me, good egg and blasto numbers and BFP on second go. Make sure you push the Bemfola needle on well (but don’t twist). There are reports of the needles leaking at the base and I thought that on round one, but actually not sure it wasn’t just running down from the tip after priming. Good luck! Xx

Hi Purpledoggy,I'm scanning old posts as I just injected Bemfola for the first time and had this - liquid all over my fingers even though the needle was in all the way and about 8-10 drips on the carpet. What did I do wrong?

Purpledoggy profile image
Purpledoggy in reply to Greenwhitecar

It might be the needle wasn’t on far enough-I pushed it on firmly so it clicked but it says not to twist. I assume you primed first? If i got drips on the outside during priming I wiped them off the syringe with a bit of tissue to make sure they then didn’t drip on me. If it happens again maybe ask your clinic as they might be able to video call with you to help xx

I was on buserelin (injection similar to synarel) and bemfola. I was fine on both and for my second round they upped the bemfola and I collected lots more eggs compared to my first round (round 1: 3 mature, 12 collected; round 2: 8 mature, 20 collected) - so hopefully the high dose of bemfola brings you lots of luck too!!

I found the bemfola easier than menopur to inject (personally, although hubby was doing the injecting whilst I was eating haribo to distract myself πŸ˜‚)

Have everything crossed for you! So so pleased it’s all kicking off 🀞🏽🀞🏽🀞🏽🀞🏽 Xxx

We used synarel nasal spray in our private treatment to shut everything down. It was ok to be honest, got used to it pretty quick πŸ™‚ breathe it in deeply as you spray. Good luck with your new protocols xx

I had Synarel when I did a long protocol privately. It had a bad after taste to me but all in all not terrible.

Bemfola is a bio similar (like a generic, but for biological medicines - ema.europa.eu/en/medicines/... for Gonal F so if you did well with Gonal F this should be the same. Presumably they use it because biosimilars are cheaper than the brand.
