I’m currently going through IVF for PGD purposes but sadly first attempt only resulted in 2 fertilised eggs and neither made it to the testing stage. I’m not sure if that counts as one of our attempts. My follow up appointment is not for 10 days and it’s just one of the many questions circling around my brain!

Hi. Can I ask, what counts as a full cycle under the NHS?

Hey I believe if you get to egg collection that counts as a round with the NHS regardless of the results (sorry not what you wanted to hear) wishing you lots of luck for the future xx
As Bluedestiny says I think that counts as a round. However, they can be flexible if they choose to be. We did 1 cycle and had 5 blastocysts frozen. Then we did 2 transfers which were both BFN. We had 1 blasto left which we could have transferred, but our consultant said that transferring 2 would give us a greater chance and as we were good candidates for it to work, the offered us another full cycle for free. My point being that it’s not set in stone xxx
Like the others have said I would think that counts as a full round.
In private treatment that is definitely it, and if you haven’t got anything to transfer then that’s the way it goes
