Extending stimulation fit 1 follicle!

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has been in my situation with success!

I had my day 10 stim scan yesterday, only one follicle is starting to grow, although it’s still behind, it was measuring 7mm. The clinic has recommended I continue to stim until day 15 (Monday) and if it’s grown to 12mm they want to do egg collection some point next week .

My concern was that if you stim longer then usual this can make the egg quality weak, but they couldn’t advise on this.

I wanted to give up and start again on more of a mild IVF, but my husband and the nurse thinks I should carry on with this cycle and see what happens with this one follicle.

I feel really deflated and wanted to hear your stories!

What size should follicles be at day 10 and has anyone had any slow follicle growth but still collected good quality eggs?

I’m 36, my AMH last year was 2.7 (they haven’t taken a test to see if this has now dropped since last year) but I’m only producing 3 follicles or less, and now only 1 growing.

I’m on bureserlin and overleap and I’ve been taking CoQ10 and dhea x

There are lots of ladies on here with low AMH who will have great advice for you, in that area.

Each lady is different with response to medication and growth of follicles,

Both myself and do my younger sister have good AMH - she’s 11 yrs younger then me. We have both done the same short protocol using menopur 1200.

I responded a lot quicker then her and had more follicles, she also needed at least one extra scan.

Our clinic says your dominant follicle needs to be at least 16mm before they do egg collection

I’m not sure if this is the same at other clinics

Day 17 of stimming , I’m bloated and feeling nauseous today. I have my trigger shot tonight and egg collection Friday.

I still only have one follicle large enough, this morning it was measured at 18mm, I have another one at 11mm and two and 6&7mm. But I doubt these will catch up by Friday 😥 but there’s Hope still for the folly in the lead , it could be the one 🙏 xxx

Good luck on Friday. I've been there myself and it sucks that low AMH makes stimming completely useless. On the upside quality may be there, so hopefully this is the one egg you need.
