First cycle IVF and not responding, reassurance needed

Hi everyone, I’m 39 with stage 4 endo mainly affecting my ovaries and tubes (only have one tube). After lots of operations and issues we started IVF on Friday and base scan showed 7/8 follicles and today I’ve had one which is only showing 3 and 2 of those so small they probably won’t grow. She also saw quite a few endometriomas. I’m on low dosage merifort and gonal f. I’ve had bloods today and waiting for them to call with results and next steps but feeling so so gutted already, endo just seems to never stop. Just wanting some support and reassurance really and any positive stories.

Hi Claredav, so sorry to hear you’re feeling low about your cycle, definately been there. Just wanted to wish you all the best really. Things can change at every scan while stimming tho. They might up your dose of meds to try and get some more follicles growing but I’m not sure the impact of endometriomas on the process.

Sending you my best wishes, I hope it all works out for you x

Hey! They said to carry on as I am but add in the fyremadel injection now to try and sort out my LH level as a bit high. Back in morning to see what’s happening so fingers crossed it’s better news. Thank you so much for asking, so kind of you xx

Oh that’s good news 👏 Sounds like they’re doing everything they can. I have mild endo so can relate to you in regards to surgeries & pain but sounds like you’ve got it far worse than me. My first IVF I only had two follicles & eggs collected, but they both made good embryos. I didn’t conceive but it was still a positive.

Hope it goes well today. Let me know how you get on, if you want to of course x

Thank you so much, was a much better scan yesterday, 6 follicles on the left ovary only one or two on right but was masked by two endometriomas. She seemed happy with the left follicles though so just carrying on protocol for now then back Monday so hoping will be even better then x

Please don't worry and stay positive. Your doctor will change your meds to stim your follicle some more. Things can change every day. Some bodies react faster while some slowly. If your body is responding slowly, you will likely stim for more no. of days. There is still hope!
