3.5 weeks of Buserine not responding, cancelled cycle. Help...

Hi everyone

I've had my second baseline scan today following 3.5 weeks of Buserline down reg - simple cyst and 9mm lining. My first baseline scan was following 10 days of down reg. the lining was 5.8mm and the clinic said they want it to be at least 5mm to start stims. So they extended the Buserline for another two weeks.

Clearly, it hasn't worked and I am not responding to the drug. Gutted I didn't even get to stims and I've waited for this cycle for almost 2 years. It's my first NHS round. The doctor said they will discuss my complex case at a general meeting at the begging of June. I have endometriosis very low AMH and fibroids, plus I've had 3 miscarriages - naturally conceived. I had my fallopian tubes removed in January due to endo blockage, natural conception is no longer an option.

The clinic said that senior doctors have to decide on possibly another protocol. It seems that cancelling treatment altogether is also on the cards from what the nurse told me.

Please help. Has anyone else been in this situation - not responding to down reg.? What would you advise as a next step? I am not sure I have the patience or can afford to wait for the NHS any longer. I'll be 39 on my next birthday and if start another NHS cycle it won't be till July. Should I wait for a new NHS protocol or potential cancellation of treatment? The alternatives are either go abroad as it's cheaper or natural IVF? What do people think? Thank you!

Hi Zoe, just wanted to send you a big virtual hug, nobody will ever be able to tell you how hard this all is unless they’ve gone through it. We’re having our own difficulties at the moment (not the same as yours) but it’s the feeling of being left in limbo which is how I’m feeling at the mo. Hopefully you’ll soon get some answers, take care x

Hi Zoe222 As the previous post says wait and see what the outcome is after the doctors discuss the best way forward for you. Before appt write down the questions you want to ask Thinking of you

Hi, mild or natural IVF works best for low AMH. Doing multiple cycles and banking embryos would be the way to go. Also make sure your TSH is below 2, best is 1. Sometimes low AMH goes hand in hand with thyroid issues. If you can, go private or abroad instead of waiting on NSH because at 39, time is of the essence.

Hi Marisa32 thanks for your thoughts. I've been tested for Thyroid peroxidase antibodies the results were normal I was told, the value was 0.26 but not sure what that means. From google-ing TSH is a different test so I will ask for that thanks! Yes, sadly the clock is ticking very fast for me...

I am really sorry that you have to go through all these. They definitely have to change your protocol, you can down regulate using birth control pills as an option, otherwise use short protocol where no down reg is needed. Your case is indeed complex so I wouldn't waste my time with NHS, they have standard protocols that are probably not suitable for your needs. Cheap option and very good clinics are abroad in case you want to take this into consideration. Take care and stay strong 💪🤗

Hi Ranchu90 thank you. I didn't think of it that way but yes you are right the NHS does standard protocols mostly. I am researching options abroad at the moment hopefully I can organise this soon.
